"It's an art opening for this Dutch guy, Jost. His art sucks, but he used to sell me really good pot." Along Came Polly is your usual conventional by-the-numbers romantic comedy that is good for nothing more than a good laugh. As usual, these kinds of movies are reeled out frequently by the studios just to soak up some light money. As the film opens, Reuben Feffer (Stiller) gets married to the girl of his dreams named Lisa (Messing). But while the two are enjoying their honeymoon, Lisa dumps Reuben for a muscle-bound nudist French scuba instructor (Azaria). Reuben is heartbroken, but his best friend Sandy (Hoffman) encourages him to move on, get over Lisa and find someone else. The story evolves around the beaten to death horse "nerd guy gets ditched by dream girl, meets other nerd girl, dream girl wants to get back and nerd guy gets in conflict of which of them he should choose". Naturally this is not much to fill a full length movie with, so you better got some brilliant cast to make up for this shortcoming. Unfortunately the cast of the movie is average at best, with a quite bland Jennifer Aniston and a mediocre Ben Stiller in the leading parts. Also i never had the impression of some chemistry between them, which never is a good sign for a romantic comedy. The comedic value of this movie is low, with no memorable scenes whatsoever. I don't like this movie. This movie is not for Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston together in the movie because I like Bruce Almighty when Jim Carrey and Jennifer Aniston in together in that movie more better then Along Came Polly.

Romantic comedy, yes... but it's also very quotable and between Hank Azaria and Philip Seymour Hoffman there are parts that are funny to watch over and over. Reuben, are you for scuba?

Along came another romantic comedy from Jennifer Aniston that failed to keep me interested.
