Bogart: Let’s Get Silly!

Mixing up so many genres into a single movie could potentially be a disaster, yet I've perhaps never seen a better genre mash up than All Through the Night, I'm astounded at this movie’s ability to have a bit of everything and pull it off so immaculately. Bouncing back and forth between drama, comedy, action, murder mystery and even film noir.

Movie Favourites Seen in 2013 (30 movies items)

" Exploring the career of a star active during Hollywood's Golden Age is a hit and miss process. It seems like for every movie that's a proper vehicle to show off their outstanding qualities, there's a rightfully forgotten dud. By November of 2013, I'd watched so many Humphrey Bogart movies in both categories that I was quite sure I'd seen all the best ones he ever made. I now believe no one can claim to have done that until they've watched "All Through the Night". I sat through it growing stead"

Reading this review was kind of creepy. It reminds me of that episode of "Family Guy" where Meg guesses the word Chris is thinking of and Chris yells, "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!". Rarely do I read a review

All Through the Night is the closest thing to a Hitchcock movie starring Humphrey Bogart, in which an ordinary man gets caught up in espionage and becomes a fugitive for a crime he didn't commit, with moments in the film such as the auction scene or Bogart deliberately getting arrested by police directly reminded me of North by Northwest. While Bogart’s exploits against the movie’s Nazi villains g” read more

Top 10 Favourites of the 1940s (10 movies items)

" "Hey, there's more here than meets the F. B. I.!" - 'Gloves' Donahue" I've seen all of Humphrey Bogart's most popular movies and I was surprised when I found this obscure one more entertaining than any other. It's the kind of movie you can describe as having a little bit of everything. It's a murder-mystery, an action picture, and a comedy, with a dash of romance. Humphrey Bogart plays a smooth, resourceful, tough gambler who has a good heart, without being a traditional goody-two-shoes hero"
