Space Is Deaf to Your Screams

Posted : 6 months, 3 weeks ago at May 3 5:30
Ridley Scott directs a tale of "in-your-face" first contact, followed by a fatal game of hide and seek between a interstellar search party crew and a xenomorph, just one of what will turn out in following sequels to be a hive-race of double-mouthed acid-blooded slick black visitors who take the role of their hosts quite literally.
Never have the film genres of horror & science fiction been so perfectly blended as in this stylish, dark and damp first entry into the franchise which first introduced what is, IMO, one of the most unique & simply bad-ass alien life-forms ever produced for film.

The Original Alien.

Posted : 1 year ago at Nov 20 16:32
Ash: Ripley, for God's sake, this is the first time that we've encountered a species like this. It has to go back. All sorts of tests have to be made. Ripley: Ash, are you kidding? This thing bled acid. Who knows what it's gonna do when it's dead? Ash: I think it's safe to assume it isn't a zombie. A mining ship, investigating a suspected SOS, lands on a distant planet. The crew discovers some strange creatures and investigates. Sigourney Weaver: Ripley. Alien sees us following a seven man crew journeying to Earth aboard a huge space freighter aptly named Nostromo. The crew is in cryo-sleep, but the on-board Computer A.I. interrupts the journey, thanks to a foreign radio signal is picked up. It originates from an uninhabited planet and the crew lands to investigate. There they...Read more

A Little Frightening, But That's It.

"Alien" is a rather frightening film. It has it's own kind of fear to it. A fear that can only be found while watching this specific film. The reason I find it scary, is because you don't actually see the alien until almost the end of the film. The build up of how scary you think the alien will be, is almost as frightening as seeing it. I was really frightened when I first saw the full grown version pop up in one of the scenes. H.R. Giger, the designer of the alien, really made it look real, and truly scary. The disappointing part is, that's really all I liked about this flick. If you want to know the honest truth, I was expecting it to be much better for some reason. It had its moments, but I was expecting so much more. I wasn't entertained the whole way through, and thought they could...Read more

One of the Best Monster Movies

This is a testiment to the monster/sci-fi movie genre. This is not only suspensful, but it started a sage that is still loved by so many today. I can watch this movie 10 times in a day and still love it by the last showing. This is just one of the great sci-fi classics.

it's what you don't see...

This is still a scary movie, almost 28 years later. Ridley Scott did an amazing job of building up what you didn't see into something horrible, and when you *do* see it, it scares the audience...

HR Giger's art makes this even more twisted and alien, and when all of the pieces are tied together, it makes for a helluva movie.

Horrifying

Straight from the twisted mind of artist HR Giger, the science fiction horror bloomed into one of the biggest cult films of all time. Sigourney Weaver steps into space to deliver one of the most horrifying performances in the genre as the Aliens delivered themselves into the nightmares of people everywhere.
