Alice in Wonderland
“Disney’s Alice in Wonderland is not a fantastic adaptation of the books, one has never really been made, but it is a great introduction to them. It is also a surreal, charming and kitschy movie on its own terms. I love that there’s no moral, true to the spirit of the original works, and there is no need for Alice to be rescued by a prince, however charming, or for her to fight a satanic villainess in gothic haute couture, although I do love those characters, the Queen of Hearts is a bombastic aggressive narcissist prone more towards comedic fits than a real threat.
