A little disturbing but it was a good movie none-the-less. VEry sad tale.

Albert Nobbs struggles to survive in late 19th century Ireland, where women aren't encouraged to be independent. Posing as a man, so she can work as a butler in Dublin's most posh hotel, Albert meets a handsome painter and looks to escape the lie she has been living.

First of all, I can't remember the last time I saw her playing the lead so it was really neat to see this fine actress finally at the center of this story, just like in a good old days. On top of that, she really rocked that performance and earned a well deserved Academy Award nomination in the process. Unfortunately, it's just too bad the movie itself was not really good, I'm afraid. Indeed, even though the concept had potential, it seemed that they actually struggled to develop a decent story around it. The main issue I had, I guess, was that even though you feel bad for Albert Nobbs, this character was just so oblivious about what happened ar” read more
