Gotta keep one jump ahead of the bread line!

Gotta keep one jump ahead of the bread line, one sweep ahead of the sword...

You ain’t never seen a tale like this! Disney’s “Golden Era” of animated movies featured "The Little Mermaid," "The Lion King," "Hercules," "Tarzan," "Beauty and the Beast," and of course, "Aladdin." Aladdin is a humble street urchin in the city of Agrabah. He steals whatever he needs to survive, w... read more

Aladdin IS A Whole New World...

What a very exciting, tense, romantic and funny film this is. Aladdin along with Beauty And The Beast, The Lion King and The Little Mermaid are the ultimate Disney renaissances. What I love about Aladdin is that it makes you feel different things in different ways. It has intense action scenes especially when Aladdin, Abu and Carpet are in the Cave Of Wonders trying to escape. Aladdin is a hilario... read more

There really is A Whole New World in Aladdin!

I guess the expectations of Aladdin were exceedingly high because this was the first Disney animated film that featured computer generated effects as well as hand-drawn effects and what a great success it turned out to be! It is a very exciting, tense, romantic and hilarious film to watch. What I love about Aladdin the most is that it makes you feel different things in different ways. For example,... read more

100 Greatest Animated Features (100 movies items)

"By 1992 the Disney Renaissance had spawned some acknowledged modern classics of animation and was showing no signs of stopping with the immensely popular 'Aladdin', one of Disney's liveliest features. Sticking firmly with the show-tune style that characterised the songs of the Disney Renaissance features, 'Aladdin' is best remembered for the nauseating 'Whole New World', a kitsch power ballad drowning in syrup. But there were great compensations in the form of the infectious 'One Jump Ahead' and"

"A highly entertaining entry in Disney's renaissance era," Aladdin is beautifully drawn, with near-classic songs and a cast of scene-stealing characters."

Clichés that belong to garbage (12 movies items)

"Way too familiar pop-culture references When I started watching movies, intertextual references were fun to spot. After you see a film or two, it becomes way too easy and gimmicky. Probably some of the most exploited references stem from Star Wars, like some kind of variation on "May the Force be with you" or "I'm your father", and Hannibal Lecter's antics from Silence of the Lambs to name a few. Also, it seems that a lot of these otherwise fine animated films of the past few years seem to dro"
