A good movie

11 months, 2 weeks ago at Jun 13 3:50
Personally, I was quite blown away by 'Mar adentro' which was basically the best Spanish movie I have ever seen so I was really eager to watch the following directing effort by Alejandro Amenabar. I was rather amazed that this movie was barely seen and quickly forgotten. Indeed, it may not be as awesome as Amenabar's previous effort but I thought it was still pretty good. It deals with philosophy,... read more

A good movie

“Personally, I was quite blown away by 'Mar adentro' which was basically the best Spanish movie I have ever seen so I was really eager to watch the following directing effort by Alejandro Amenabar. I was rather amazed that this movie was barely seen and quickly forgotten. Indeed, it may not be as awesome as Amenabar's previous effort but I thought it was still pretty good. It deals with philosophy, science, religion and love and most of it was quite spellbinding to watch. The main issue was that it probably was too ambitious and all those ideas were not really well developped. For example, there were not one but two romances around Hypatia and I understand why they added those, to add some human dimension to this grand scale events, but those romances were more annoying than anything else e” read more

Heladius Dignitary: Why should this assembly accept the council of someone who admittedly believes in absolutely nothing? Hypatia: I believe in philosophy.
