About a Boy is based on a book by Nick Hornby. The case is not terribly original. The viewer knows more or less what will happen. But the humorous mood throughout the film, makes it very interesting. This is based on the pattern of two completely different characters (with only common point of loneliness), the conflict which caused laughter. Charming British comedy

I usually enjoy watching these types of heart-warming British comedies, and About a Boy is certainly no exception. This one has a lot more heart than some other comedies I've seen over the years, and the great cast certainly help the film majorly.

Another soppy (not bad) Hugh Grant rom-com was the first thing that came to my mind when I heard of his film and saw a couple of pictures and the poster and this is exactly what I thought of it. "March 4 "And there I was killing them softly with my song. Or rather being killed. And not so softly either."
