This movie, while definitely entertaining, is pure fluff---not to mention, annoying with the current songs and suggestive dancing that would not have been seen during the time period portrayed in this movie.

The character of Chaucer (played by Paul Bettany) is a much needed dose of comic entertainment, but really isn't needed for the story.

Not sure exactly why, but I really like this movie. It's not amazing, the acting isn't going to win Oscars, but I like it. The characters are funny and pretty well filled out, and the overall plot line is enough to keep you into it. It's worth seeing the awkward moments too.

One of the best films ever made, purely because it is one of the most enjoyable and entertaining films to watch. This was one of the first films, if not the first, of Heath Ledger's movies that I saw. "Paul Bettany as Geoffrey Chaucer. I loved this film through and through. Tongue firmly in cheek they scoffed at the laws of doing period pieces and had us watch as the players danced, and sang, to Golden Years by Bowie. I didn't care. It was still fun! My favorite part of it all? Geoffrey Chaucer! Brash, flamboyant and knowing ALL the right words to say and just how to say them. Bettany made this and stole the show! "
