The Beatles contained an easy going charm, and a certain British wit which was unique to themselves while still being obviously British, and so putting them into a film made only the most perfect of sense. Knowing that A Hard Day’s Night was made on a shoestring budget, barely contains any plot and was filmed in a weekend (I’m exaggerating, but not by too much) only makes you appreciate the sheer ingenuity and greatness of it all the more. This should have been a complete and utter disaster. The plot follows a day in the life of Britain’s newest BIG thing, and nothing since has proved to be bigger, better or more long lasting really.
