Like everyone, Walter has his dreams and is an aspiring sculptor who wants nothing more than to be accepted by his peers. Unfortunately Walter's talents don't quite come up to his expectations.
Walter's luck changes when his landlady's cat, Frankie, gets caught in the hollow wall cavity of his home. In an attempt to free the unfortunate feline Walter stabs a knife into the wall, but kills the poor cat in the process. Walter can think of only one way to hide Frankie's body and covers it in clay, leaving the knife sticking out from the finished sculpture, which just happens to look pretty darn good. Walter's boss, Leonard, displays the sculpture in his club, it is a roaring sucess and Walter's dreams seem to be coming true. But will anyone notice that, as Walter's exhibits grow in number, the club's clientele is shrinking?... (more)(less)
"2.5. (DVD)
Jälleen ideana kiinnostava, itse elokuva vain on tunnin kestossaankin tylsyyskidutusta. Voi ehkä johtua siitäkin, ettei Corman oikein tunnu olevan niitä ohjaajia, jonka pätkiä kannattaa oikeasti katsoa yksinäisen maratonin merkeissä liukuhihnalta. Peruspointit tekotaiteellisuudesta, halusta pysyä arvostettuna sekä yrityksestä tehdä ihastuksenseensa vaikutusta vilpillisin keinoin ovat kliffoja. Epäileepä Corman A Bucket of Bloodin myös olevan ensimmäisiä kauhukomedioi"

This is actually a quite loveable film (well, for those who appreciate satire and black comedy) and not the sleaze-fest that the title would suggest. And truth be told it features one of the more memorable central characters in all of cinema. Now does all of this make A Bucket of Blood a masterpiece? Well, no, not quite. But it is solid entertainment and a film that has held up quite nicely I would say since over the decades since its release."
"Watched 7/1/11
This black comedy still holds up well today, especially because it makes fun of beatnik society and because it doesn't take itself too seriously. Yep, there are still people who think like that today."
