Passabile film pieno di poliziotti neri e sporchi come piacciono al regista. Meglio del nuovo "L'ultima missione" del 2008, ma comunque a tratti noioso. E io odio i francesi, ma qui ve lo dico a cuore aperto.

I'm not really all that knowledgable about French cinema, but the one thing that I couldn't get over in this film was how ridiculously cheesy and evil Gerrard Depardieu looks! Just because of his face you can pin who is going to be the protagonist and who will be the antagonist.

The story however, is not so predicatble. It's a great cop drama. 'The French Heat' was the line that got me interested, but I don't think it's as gritty as that. There are numerous likable characters and plenty of sad moments. I enjoyed the film and the soundtrack is probably worth a mention too, it really set the scene at times.

The French Heat

Going into 36 I'd heard about its similarities to the Michael Mann film 'Heat'. I dig that film and having watched this now I'd say the two are on a par. Both gritty crime thrillers with top draw acting and gripping stories. Will definitely buy the DVD and watch again.
