Going into 36 I'd heard about its similarities to the Michael Mann film 'Heat'. I dig that film and having watched this now I'd say the two are on a par. Both gritty crime thrillers with top draw acting and gripping stories. Will definitely buy the DVD and watch again.

I'm not really all that knowledgable about French cinema, but the one thing that I couldn't get over in this film was how ridiculously cheesy and evil Gerrard Depardieu looks! Just because of his face you can pin who is going to be the protagonist and who will be the antagonist.

Passabile film pieno di poliziotti neri e sporchi come piacciono al regista. Meglio del nuovo "L'ultima missione" del 2008, ma comunque a tratti noioso. E io odio i francesi, ma qui ve lo dico a cuore aperto.

Description: In the underbelly of the Parisian criminal world, the Police are frustrated by a gang committing a series of violent robberies. Leo Vrinks and Denis Klein are two cops seeking promotion and the imminent departure of the Chief sets the scene for them to compete for the vacant throne. Their competition between them becomes increasingly ruthless and blurs the usual lines of morality until there seems no difference between the police and the criminals they chase.
