25th Hour (2002)

Once again, Edward Norton has left me bedazzled. I watched this with my boyfriend, who's another fan of Norton, and yes, we liked this just the same. Rosario Dawson's role is a plus; she's a goddess and I like her for being bold and sassy.

Now I'm wanting to see more of Spike Lee's flicks!

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. This movie was made to perfection and I enjoyed watching it from start to finish. Edward Norton plays a drug dealer named Monty Brogan who has just been caught with dugs at his house and it about to serve a seven year jail sentence. This movie shows how he spends his last hours of freedom and who he chooses to trust when it comes to who was part of getting him arrested in the first place. Even the closest people he knows could be involved, but it's all about his last night and wondering whether o not he will eve survive being locked away for that long. If you had 24hours left before you had to go to jail for a long time, what would you do? Which friends would stick by you? What about your girlfriend who you suspect had a hand in getting you arrested?

This movie explores all that, in a movie style that only Spike Lee can deliver. It had me riveted all the way to the ending, which I must say, is absolutely unexecpted but also probably one of the best endings for a movie. This movie has so many layers, so many depths, and such incredible character development. A nice hidden gem of a movie.
