Having seen the original "Two Thousand Maniacs", I can say I much preferred it over this remake, despite the presence of Robert Englund. The original, which was just as cheesy and bad as the remake, at least is much more fun to watch. "2001 Maniacs" isn't scary, isn't well acted, and isn't well written, and is completely, ridiculously, terrible.

But along they way, they get detoured into a small, off-the-map, town of Pleasant Valley, Georgia where they, along with three drifters, Joey, Kat and Ricky, and biker Malcolm and his girlfriend Leah, are welcomed as guests of honor by the cheerful, but sinister-looking Mayor Buckman for the annual Pleasant Valley Guts and Glory Festival. Ni particulièrement bien tourné, ni particulièrement bien écrit, il s'agit d'une oeuvre qui mise beaucoup sur son étrange humour ainsi que ses meurtres malsains. I'm not so sure... Since it is 50 years old, it may have some historical value but a part from that, I don't know...
Will I ever watch this remake?
I have a lot of respect for Robert Englund but this doesn't look really good..."

And yet, having watched it, I am now moving on to the sequel, with some very low expectations, of course. But if you want to watch this movie, do yourself a favour and go with the original film over this one.” read more
