MY FIRST JOB IN SPORTS WAS …: Keeping stats for my dad's over-40 softball team! But my first paid job in sports was working for WPSU-TV my junior and senior years of college. I was a sideline reporter for Penn State football, basketball and baseball, and I hosted the show "Let's Talk Sports, Nittany Lion Fans with Steve Jones." I was also a guest football analyst on the show "Huddle Up."
THE BEST BIG TEN TRADITION IS …: There is no name on my jersey..." Penn State classic! Paternoville is pretty awesome. Ohio State and Michigan have a lot of great tradition, too.
MOST ADMIRED ATHLETE GROWING UP: Mia Hamm, Michael Jordan and Eric Lindros.
GREATEST ALL-TIME BIG TEN SPORTS MEMORY AS A SPECTATOR: Penn State vs. Ohio State 2005! It was a whiteout and Penn State won 17-10...it was so loud and the fans were so rowdy that it felt like the entire stadium was going to collapse. YouTube it. It will give you chills!
GREATEST ALL-TIME ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENT: In addition to some good wins in each of the sports I played growing up, I was the Juniors' QB for our annual powder puff football game. All of the Senior girls had bets going to see who could break my nose first. Well, I made it out, nose in one piece and I threw a few great TD passes.
FAVORITE QUOTE: "It is not the critic who counts, not the person who points out how the strong person stumbled or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the person who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions, and spends themselves in a worthy cause; who at best knows the triumph of high achievement; and who at worst, if they fail, at least fails while daring greatly, so that their place shall never be with those cold nor timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt.
