The first half is pretty tight-knit and personality of heroes unfolds rather naturally to the point that director and screenwriter lost in dead ends of heroes and drama of pluralism, admittedly capable actors. From the point of this as well and follow i lost contact with the heroes. Starts may not be able to understand the suicidal tendency, lack of interest in life, lack of confidence and self-esteem and this is not adequately analyzed the starting point of all these trends. There is no doubt that one admires the way the actors communicate these deadlocks, but does not understand its origin. For most of the movie wondering if the behavior of our heroes has to do with the place, time and circumstances in which they live or whether we just witnessed the stubborn refusal to live a group of people who could live anywhere, anytime. And finally if this is true, because such refusal; The way it works and understands the reality of this group seems autistic and detached from historical context and'm not sure this was the goal. It's truth that the explosive performances and dragged him to the director failed to strengthen the framework within which the incorporated.
Balanced thus directed, good photography, good enough job in editing, this is mainly preserved, but the film, are the perfomances! Lancaster in a role-box creates the ultimate American hero, what longing to see the average viewer of that time, an ideal soldier. The most interesting scenes remain the face-to-face with Montgomery Clift, where the stark, imposing almost devastating interpretation of Lancaster meets extrovert introvert, hard and semi-finished (intentional) interpretation of the Method actor. Classic helpful interpretations of the ladies of the drama, Deborah Kerr and Donna Reed, and a counter perfomance from Frank Sinatra. The film is interesting and clearly is the best shot for Pearl Harbor, although the historical event is presented somewhat hastily and unevenly in the end, as the director wants to throw and the evil in the heads of his heroes. With few words a good movie with amazing perfomances! propelas's rating:

And what are you going to do with the movies you have already seen ? Rewatch them ?
Considering the low rating you gave the first time you saw them, are they really worthy of a 2nd watch ?

2. http://www.listal.com/movie/untitled-larry-charles-project
my two suggestions are:
1. From Here To Eternity
2. Fail-Safe
Both Classics that I am surprised you haven't watched yet.
2. Chasing Amy
I don't know if I would call Lancaster's character the ultimate American hero - he had no qualms about sleeping with his superior officer's wife after all - all the characters were flawed to some extent, which is what I think makes it such a great movie :)
