Source: The rest of the films in this list aren't in order and are mostly from Woody Allen's book, Conversations with Woody Allen: His Films, the Movies, and Moviemaking, which were listed on this site.
Time Magazine says Woody Allen's favorite director is Ingmar Bergman. He said in response to the question, "If someone who hadn't seen any of his films asked you to recommend just five, what would be your Bergman starter set?"
The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, The Magician, Cries and Whispers and Persona.

His American list dominates many of my own favorites; Maltese Falcon, Notorious, Double Indemnity, White Heat. One thing he does not hide at all is his passion for the gritty grains of film noir ;)
