Where Is My Sequel?

10. JSRF: Jet Set Radio Future - Xbox
The innovation that this game emits is amazing. Everything just works in this game for me. I even though not being a fan of techno music, I thoroughly enjoy the soundtrack. The cel-shading use makes the environment just comes alive. Aside from a few controller issues, I cannot go on how much that this game works.

Update: As of March 2009, Sega has recently renewed the Jet Set Radio/Grind Radio and ChuChu Rocket trademarks in the U.S. Speculation has lead to believe that both are soon to be rereleased on Xbox Live and/or PSN.

9. Xenogears - PlayStation
This is a true JRPG in every fashion. If you enjoy the A-typical storyline and an interesting twist on the Active Time Battle methods, then do yourself a favor and download this on the Playstation Network.

Update: Nothing currently in development or rumored.

8. Hitman: Blood Money - Xbox 360
Award Winning success franchises sometimes lose all of their flavor after a while. This famed IO Interactive developed title unfortunately was no different. The last two games went into the depths of Agent 47's mind, but forced the player, in my opinion, to play one way. Only stealth. You are penalized for going in like a madman "guns blazin'". Regardless, there were still may different was to eliminate your target. I love this franchise!

Update: Due to technical problems it has been confirmed that Hitman 5 is now being delayed until Christmas 2011 "at the earliest".

7. Z.O.E.: Zone of the Enders - PlayStation 2
One of my favorite PS2 titles developed by Konami and produced by (the Metal Gear Solid franchise mastermind) Hideo Kojima. The second Z.O.E. game sold poorly and Hideo blamed himself. Apparently, it wasn't the fact that the game was constructed poorly, but the fact it had a terrible release date.

Update: Hideo Kojima stated that he would love to develop a possible sequel, but Konami hasn't greenlit it yet.

6. Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2 - PlayStation 2
Alright, let me quickly point out that this is not one of the best spinoff's of the Resident Evil franchise. I just love the concept of the game. Third person RE "tank controls", the survival horror atmosphere, and playing online with three others losers who never have enough damn ammo! All of the eight playable characters have their special ability and items. This makes for a strategic method of play instead of just "shooting until the limbs fall off." I would love to see this game redone with the technology available today.

Update: Nothing currently in development or rumored.

5. Lost Odyssey - Xbox 360
Legendary Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi had his hands all over this 360 exclusive title. Lost Odyssey was a JRPG gamers' dream. The biggest problem though is that it didn't break any new ground. Sticking with a "tried and true" method garnered the game overall positive reviews though. As far as back stories, Kaim's 1000 years of dreams have been explored through a novel, and the game didn't break any record sales, so a possible sequel doesn't look to bright.

Update: Nothing currently in development or rumored.

4. Panzer Dragoon Orta - Xbox
If you can get your hands on one this out of print game, please do. You will not be disappointed.

Update: Nothing currently in development or rumored.

3. Chrono Trigger - Super famicom and SNES
Amazing storyline, fantastic game play, and multiple endings give you plenty of reasons to replay this masterpiece. I could go on and on about the sheer greatness of this game, but I won't beat it over everybody's head. Just go and play it already!

Update: There was a Nintendo DS update a few years ago, but nothing currently in development.

2. The Legend of Dragoon - PlayStation
One of my favorite games of all time. This epic story spans four discs and an easy to learn, but difficult to master learning curve, makes this game a must play. Admittedly, I have not beaten this game. Laugh all you will. Go find this game and call me not when, excuse me...if, you get past the third disc.

Update: Nothing currently in development or rumored.

1. Shenmue II - Xbox
Nothing like going to work...on a video game. This game is one of the crown jewels of sequel anticipation. Plenty salivate at the mouth waiting for a conclusion to Ryo's journey.

Update: Depending on where you get your source, the game is either completed and waiting for fans to pledge alliance to buy multiple copies, or it will never happen. Ever!
Mr. Lays's rating:

Some gamers ask were is the sequel to some of these games. So do I?

These games really do deserve sequels. I've been waiting for a sequel to Blood Money for a long time. The Hitman series has always been interesting to me. The first one had a groundbreaking idea that wasn't very well implemented, but as the series continued forward it really began living up to its initial promise. Such a shame that Blood Money was as good as it was and it's taken this long for a follow-up that I've heard will adopt current trends, such as a cover system. I'm all for re-inventing the series, I just hope it doesn't lose what made it so alluring in the process.

Thanks for the comment T-Pulla! I have been anxiously waiting for I/O Interactive to stop with these sub par Kane & Lynch titles and get back on the track.

Z.O.E, Xenogears and Chrono Trigger each all deserve a proper sequel, its shocking as people are dying for these games to have sequels to, ah well

I agree whole heartedly on Lost Odyssey, Shenmue II, Chrono Trigger, and The Legend Of Dragoon. All are excellent games.
With the delay of Hitman 5 I would be skeptical on it's quality. Lost Odyssey is amazing I did two full playthroughs of that game each well over 100 hours. Fantastic RPG.

It's nothing short of a tragedy that we'll never see Shenmue 3. Lost Odyssey was a solid game and definitely deserved a sequel. If you want another great Xbox 360 J-RPG, play Last Remnant! That's another game that deserves a sequel but will probably never get one now :(

Xenogears has a sequel called Xenoblade. Chrono Trigger has Chrono Cross.

Ah, I actually was aware of Chrono Cross, but for some reason it doesn't feel like a true sequel. Thank you for the vote and comment, nevertheless.

uhh the sequel or rather prequel to xenogears was and is Xenosaga..

Square had originally intended to make 8 games in the xenogears series (xenogears actually bein number 6 in the series.)...... but for some reason xenogears didnt do to well and we got xenosaga that didnt really garner any interest. they ended up cutting it off at episode 3.

Dunno about xenoblade being a sequel as posted by silent killer though ...

Mmm also after looking up xenoblade silent killer has no idea what hes talking about that game has nothing to do with xenogears.

Xenoblade Chronicles, known in Japan as Xenoblade (ゼノブレイド Zenobureido?), is a role-playing video game developed by Monolith Soft[3] and published by Nintendo[4] for the Wii console. The game was announced during E3 2009, when a trailer was released to media. The game follows a young man named Shulk, who wields the titular Xenoblade – an energy blade called the Monado – against the Mechon in order to ultimately save the world.[5][6] Originally titled Monado: Beginning of the World, the game was retitled Xenoblade in January 2010 to honour Tetsuya Takahashi

@heritic have to agree X( would kill for a shenmue 3. the creator of shenmue 1, 2 had a mmo planned and baised of how that went he had planned to make a 3rd shenmue and released the final book any ways so if he never makes the game you can at least read the books for the story/closure.
