I finally got to see this masterpiece. It deserves all the praise it gets for sure.

2. Lincoln (2012)
Rewatched 1/3/13

This movie is just as good with multiple viewings. I'll never be able to watch another movie about Lincoln without comparing it to this one.

3. Session 9 (2001)
Watched 1/15/13

I was bored out of my brains watching this one. That might be acceptable for a low-budget arthouse drama, but it's UN-acceptable for a horror-thriller of all things.

4. Land of the Dead (2005)
Watched 1/16/13

Not bad, but not great. More of a psychological look into the collapse of society (due to a zombie plague) than a gore-fest of People vs. Zombies.

5. Django Unchained (2012)
Watched 1/26/13

I think Tarantino is overrated (still), but I have to admit that this was a pretty good movie. Django needed more dialogue in my opinion.

6. Identity (2003)
Watched 1/26/13

Why is this movie rated so highly? It's an average horror-thriller with bad acting and a boring, predictable plot twist at the end.

7. Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
Watched 1/27/13

This movie is not really meant to "entertain," as most mainstream movies are - that much is clear by the latter 1/3 of the movie. Instead, this movie really makes you think.

Wow! I despise Westerns but loved this one, which goes to show you its positives (incredible characterization and acting) far outweighed my general distaste for Westerns.

A touching, sentimental ghost story? Who would've thought?

10. Mama (2013)

Not bad for PG-13 horror. The ending was extremely disappointing, however, and they overused the CGI.

11. TerrorVision (1986)
Watched 1/30/13

I love cheesy 80s horror movies, and TerrorVision is an under-appreciated gem in the genre. I laughed throughout.

12. The Pact (2012)
Watched 1/31/13

I really don't understand why this is rated so low. It does nothing revolutionary, sure, but it's a refreshing breath of fresh air in horror/thrillers. The protagonist is actually intelligent and likeable.

13. Hellraiser (1987)
Watched 1/31/13

Whoa. This movie is...uh...intense. Frank is definitely scarier than the Cenobites, although that thing that hangs from the ceiling is definitely nightmarish. Great special effects are in this, too.

14. Warm Bodies (2013)
Watched 2/1/13

I LOVED this. Entertaining fluff that really hit all the right notes with me. The book is much better (books usually are), but this was a pretty good adaptation of the zombie-romantic-comedy.

15. Dead Snow (2009)
Watched 2/1/13

This Nazi zombies movie has almost no plot and character development, but I give it this rating for pretty good effects and great comedic timing.

16. Black Sabbath (1963)
Watched 2/2/13

I know it's a horror classic and all...but it wasn't as great as I was lead to believe. The really good parts of the film weren't enough to get rid of the overall "meh" feeling.

17. Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies (2012)
Watched 2/2/13

Just thinking about this movie makes me giggle. It's a low-budget knockoff of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, sure, but the effects and acting aren't THAT bad. At least it's entertaining!

18. Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011)
Watched 2/6/13

This movie was....pretty bad. I like low budget zombie movies, but there's just no excuse for awful acting and a dumb plot that takes itself way too seriously.

19. Life of Pi (2012)
Watched 2/7/13

An introspective view of life and loss, told in the form of an allegory. Thoughtful without being too preachy. I loved it.

I finally got to see one of the most beloved horror camp movies of all time, and I gotta say it was pretty entertaining. Not a masterpiece compared to a lot of films, but pretty great for the horror genre.

A thriller that's all the more thrilling because it's true. I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of it. Great acting, script, and sets.

Fairly average 80s-style action flick. It actually didn't use a lot of genre cliches, which I appreciated. This is a good one for the Stallone fans.
