I decided to end the year with a fun movie. This movie had everything it needed to be a success. It was funny, had big names and had thrills. I wasn't expecting Richard Pryor to appear an hour into the movie, but his appearance was worth the wait. Definitely the best Pryor/Wildor movie. I just want to say that this list was a fun experience and I will be doing this again in 2013.

Ever since I heard about this movie I have been wanting to see it. If I saw it earlier then I probably would've been a bit disappointed. It is a good movie, but it is flawed and isn't as great as it could've been. Aaron Johnson was good though.

Very funny movie. This was known to be the first gross-out comedy, but unlike most movies of that kind the gross-out humor is clever and it also doesn't just rely on that kind of humor for cheap laughs.

I decided to watch another Coen Brothers movie before the year ends. This is a good movie, but it doesn't reach the level of greatness as their other films for me. The acting is good, so is the script and like all their movies it has a really good soundtrack. It's not their best work, but I might revisit it years from now.

I know most of you are surprised I hadn't seen this yet, but when I was really young I had no urge to see it, but the older I got the more interested I was in seeing it. I just never got around to seeing it, but today I thought it was about time that I finally watch it. I don't think I ever seen a kid's movie as heartfelt and powerful as this one. I also never knew how talented Drew Barrymore was as a child. This was a great movie that I'm glad I finally saw.

Since this was leaving Netflix on the first of January, I decided to watch it while I still had the chance too. I'm really glad I did. Natalie Portman's performance is probably the best I've seen from her. She is one of my favorite actresses, but I've never seen her pull off a performance like this. I also thought the movie was very weird and sometimes unpredictable. If there are any flaws in this movie then I couldn't find them.

I was looking for something to watch on Netflix and when I saw this on there I thought I should finally see it. I thought it was disappointing. The character development was very poor in my opinion. Some of theme were horny nerds and some of them just weren't likeable. The script really wasn't impressive either. One thing that bugged me was how many party scenes there were. Does a movie like this need that many? The reason for my generous rating is because I really didn't think this was a bad movie and there were some things I liked about this movie like Fincher's direction. This was just overrated and overhyped.

I knew about this one for years, but had never seen it until now. I thought that this documentary was very educational since I don't live in America. This documentary was funny, thought-provoking and sometimes shocking. There were a couple things that keep me from giving it a perfect score, but this was a great documentary and makes me interested in seeing Morgan Spurlock's other work. (Except that One Direction one he's working on.

This was an awesome movie. Everything about this movie was great. Jamie Fox is really good as Django and everyone else is good too. This is the worst buddy cop movie I've seen so far. There were only 3 funny jokes in the whole movie. The movie would actually be funnier if Kevin Smith wrote the script.

What a letdown. All I wanted was a funny movie and I got about a few mildly funny laughs. What's worse is that this is a critically-acclaimed comedy. Step Brothers and Mallrats get bashed by critics but this one doesn't? I also didn't like John C. Reilly in this movie. He is a good actor most of the time, but in this he was just an obnoxious douchebag. Even though this movie was 88 minutes I still think this is a waste of time that I'll never get back.

I've been wanting to see this for a while. The trailer was intriguing and Quentin Tarantino's comment of the movie on the DVD cover was tempting. If I didn't lower my expectations a little bit then I would've been a little disappointed. It is a good movie. It was unlike anything Kevin Smith has done before and it's his most mature movie to date, but it falls flat from being his best movie. It is worth seeing, but don't expect anything great from it.

How come whenever a new Christmas Buddies movie comes out that is the Christmas movie the school watches when there are so many better Christmas movies in the world. The plot has been done before in a better movie called Elf. It was also mind-numbingly stupid. I mean Mrs. Clause getting locked in jail? How cliched is that? The humor is also unfunny like all Buddies movies. The reason for the extra star is because it is slightly better than Treasure Buddies.

This wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but it still isn't good. The main problem is that it barely feels like a Beverly Hills Cop movie. It feels like a movie about Eddie Murphy hanging out at an amusement park. Has some mildly funny jokes, but is worth skipping along with it's predecessor. My experience before the show was a bitch. The path to the theater was blocked so I had to walk and since the room the movie was in was being cleaned the staff made us wait outside in the fucking cold. It was more than worth it. Like all the LOTR movies they're visually impressive and proves that Peter Jackson is the king of blockbusters. It also had some humorous dialogue and when the movie ends it leaves you wanting more. Somehow it doesn't reach the same level of greatness as the LOTR movies did, but it is a great start to the trilogy and hopefully the other two will be better.

When this movie came out I avoided it because of my hatred for Zac Efron, but since it got positive feedback I decided to watch it. I should've kept avoiding it because this was terrible. Zac Efron was so bad that it made me miss Matthew Perry's character and I'm not even a fan of him. This is another body swap comedy. It wouldn't bother me so much if this movie was funny, but it isn't. This movie was around an hour and forty minutes, but it felt much longer than that. Please avoid this movie. Most of Eddie Murphy's new movies are ones that suck and this is no exception. Most of the jokes in the movie aren't funny. Love your comments on here! And it looks like we have some similar feelings toward many of these films.

Since I see you watched some Steve Martin movies last month, if you haven't seen it yet I recommend you watch The Lonely Guy, which may well be my favorite of his earlier films.

Glad to see some love for Raising Arizona. It's one of the films I think people will/should appreciate regardless of their feelings of hatred toward Nic Cage.

Your positive feedback on the original Assault on Precinct 13 is encouraging...may have to bump that one up soon (it's in my queue).

Lots of good stuff watched this month. Glad to see you enjoyed Bowfinger, Mad Max, The Prophecy, Fight Club, Die Hard, Robocop, and especially Dawn of the Dead. I didn't care for the Dawn of the Dead remake & it seems rather overrated on here, probably by those who have never seen the original.

Also cool to see you're catching up with Scorsese, which I've been slowly doing since last year.

Since you've finally watched Donnie Darko & enjoyed it, I don't recommend checking out the director's cut. I love that movie & the director's cut does nothing at all to improve it, in fact it dumbs it down & for no good reason the soundtrack is altered for some of the scenes. Very disappointing.

Big Lebowski, American Werewolf, True Romance, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin are favorites of mine too. Oh and yes Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome is the worst of the series, but that doesn't mean it's not worth watching. Since you enjoyed the others, check it out, just don't expect it to be as good. ;)

Looks like you ended May with some excellent films & are off to a good start this month. Still finding myself agreeing with your thoughts on most of these. :)

It's been so long now since I saw 48 Hrs I'd have to revisit it to even know what I think of it. Glad you enjoyed Lethal Weapon...the entire series is entertaining, though the 3rd was my least favorite. And it sounds like I'll need to give that Elmo documentary a look!

Glad you took a chance on Piranha & enjoyed it. It's not great but definitely fun, much like Shoot 'Em Up.

Totally agree with you on Reign Over Me as well, especially the part about not getting more dramatic roles out of Sandler. Dude can really pull it off, yet he sticks to making stupid comedies I have no interest in seeing. Disappointing.

Haha I'm planning to re-watch Nolan's Batman films this month too! Very glad that you enjoyed Kung Pow! which is indeed hilarious & a lot of fun. I went into it expecting to hate it, but wound up loving it. Quite a surprise. I dig Pitch Black, Moulin Rouge and BASEketball too, though I haven't seen that last one in a long time now. Love Reservoir Dogs.

Yep, we completely agree on Lost in Translation. No plot, no emotional connection, and nothing remarkable about it. I'm confused by those ratings too.

Glad to see you enjoyed The Thing, Rubber, The Odd Couple, Rushmore and a few others. The wedding scene in Deer Hunter kills it for me, definitely too long which made the rest of the film feel too long to me also. It's got some great moments though.

And agreed on Tom Cruise in Interview with the Vampire. When I saw that in the theatre it was the first time I was truly impressed with his acting. I'm overdue for a re-watch.

You've had a busy month! Lots of personal favorites you've watched lately (Kentucky Fried Movie, Before Sunrise, Total Recall, Sideways, Identity, etc.) & all you have to do is look at our ratings & there ya go. Glad you finally watched A Nightmare on Elm Street, which is largely responsible for my love of horror movies. The entire franchise is worth watching in my opinion, though I can't say they're all good movies haha.

Also very pleased that you enjoyed Hudson Hawk which is unfairly hated. I've been defending that movie forever now.

Agreed entirely on Slacker.

An excellent list! I like your choices of movies and your comments for them. Very well done!

Awesome films so far for October! Evil Dead II and Frankenstein are personal favorites, and I love 28 Days Later too. Especially excited that you watched & loved Hausu, which is by far one of the most original films I've ever seen (at least visually). So glad that more people continue to discover it as time goes on & I'm half tempted to revisit it at some point this month. We'll see though as I've already got plenty lined up for October. My list will go up tomorrow & I'll be linking to your list since you're watching horror this month. :)

Glad I encouraged you to check out Theatre of Blood and you enjoyed it! It's probably my favorite of Price's films & definitely my favorite performance of his.

Agreed on Godzilla as well.

Glad you enjoyed Man on the Moon! Carrey is so amazing in that role.

Pleased to see a positive response to Halloween III. Land of the Dead definitely doesn't quite measure up to the films that precede it, but it's still pretty good I think.

Agreed on Kuffs and The International. I personally love the twist ending of The Game as well as everything else about it. One of my best friends & I constantly refer to "I was drugged & left for dead in Mexico & all I got was this lousy t-shirt."

Yep, Buried kept me on the edge of my seat too. Glad you enjoyed it!

Your ratings for some of the films here I haven't seen yet but want to are encouraging me to keep them on my radar.

Kudos on finally watching E.T., which has been one of my favorites since childhood & one that continues to earn my love & appreciation as I get older. Looking forward to passing that one on to my daughter in a couple years.

Also agreed wholeheartedly on Black Swan which I loved when I saw it in the theatre & now kinda wish I'd re-watched before it left Netflix. Maybe it'll be back, or else I'll buy it one of these days.

Also glad to see we're agreed on Zack & Miri and Red State being worthwhile films. Definitely not Smith's best work, as you said, but I didn't think either was at all bad like others seem to think. Not sure though if I'll work up the courage to give Jersey Girl a try.

Nice that you ended the year with Silver Streak which definitely qualifies as a fun movie. That's one my dad insisted I watch when I was younger & have loved for a while now. And yay I'm finally caught up on this list!
