I didn't cry. Nope. Not a bit. Okay maybe a little.

I've heard lots of good things about this movie and it's been recommended to me by friends. 80's sci-fi? Harrison Ford? Androids? All my favorite things! How did I miss this one? Sign me up!
However, even though this film seemed to have all the markings of something I would love, I really didn't like it that much. It has some good things going for it. The setting and the design of the city and tech is amazing (not so much the fashion but whatever), the overall premise of the Replicants is intriguing. But, I didn't like any of the characters, I didn't like the dialog, the plot was kinda muddled, and the pacing felt off to me. Some scenes just felt random and the whole thing came off as incoherent. I really wanted to like this movie, but in the end I just thought it was okay and kinda weird. I feel like a bad sci-fi fan. Can't really decide if this one is a 2 1/2 or 3 star. Ghosthack's rating:
I'm a huge fan of the first two Alien movies, but I'd never seen this one before. I was expecting it to be crap, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was watchable and maybe even enjoyable. For the most part.
The acting, cinematography and effects were all good. Except for a few cases of obvious CGI. Most of the characters were interesting enough, although the majority of the scientists were Too Dumb To Live. Some really unique gore in the later half as well. On the other hand, Ripley's character was assassinated (not even Weaver's awesome acting could save it), the plot was kinda meh, and things got really weird at the end. Terrifying alien/human hybrid baby thing with a skull face cannot unsee. D: Still, it was worth it just cause Weaver and Ryder were both in it. Ghosthack's rating:
The circumstances under which I learned of this movie are kinda strange actually, but I won't go on about that here.
I wasn't expecting anything spectacular going into this movie but somehow, despite the fact that it doesn't really do anything amazing, I ended up loving it. A lot. I love everything about this movie. The characters, the acting, the direction, the plot, the monsters, the violence, the dialog, the unique lighting techniques, everything. Don't ask me why, cause I honestly couldn't tell you. Ghosthack's rating:
This movie is bad, and I feel bad for having watched it.
