Story/Writing: ★★★★ (4 / 5)
An interesting idea, with some great twists. Lots of great dialogue as well.
Acting: ★★★★ (4 / 5)
Solid acting from everyone. No award winning performances or anything, but solid.
Visuals: ★★★★ (4 / 5)
The overall visual feel is sort of a mix of Evil Dead and Dead Alive, with an Italian twist. Lots of great, and stylish cinematography / shots here.
The zombies also look pretty decent, with my favourite being the zombie biker, with the comically split helmet. Sort of a minor zombie film icon, not quite in the same league as the Tarman, from Return of the Living Dead, or Bub, from Day of the Dead, but certainly memorable.
Soundtrack: ★★★ (3 / 5)
Not bad, but nothing too spectacular.
Beneath modern London, buried alive in it's plague-ridden tunnels, lives a tribe of once humans. Neither men nor women, they are less than animals...They are the raw meat of the human race!
Cynthia's got a GRAVE problem! 13 years ago, something terrifying almost killed her. Now it's coming back to finish the job.
Story/Writing: ★★☆ (2.5 / 5)
Shares a lot in common with A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. It doesn't help that the main character in Bad Dreams was also in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 as well. Not an awful story though, I guess, and different enough from the Elm Street series to be interesting.
Acting: ★★★ (3 / 5)
Decent enough acting from everyone involved. No really spectacular performances or anything.
Visuals: ★★★ (3 / 5)
Has some occasionally decent shots, and Richard Lynch's burn makeup looks pretty gruesome. Much more "realisitic" than Freddy's, that's for sure. I think I actually kind of prefer this more realistic burn makeup, over Freddy's very stylized makeup.
Soundtrack: ★★☆ (2.5 / 5)
Not a bad soundtrack I guess. There were synths, which is always good in my books. It did sound a little Nightmare on Elm Streetish at times though.
Conclusion:
A blatant attempt to cash in on the Elm Street craze going on at the time (A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 had just been released the year before). Not a bad movie really, but overshadowed by ANOES 3.
Story/Writing: ★★★ (3 / 5)
Shameless Alien knockoff, with a few twists. It has decent enough writing though, and just enough original material to keep it interesting. It even managed to get a chuckle or two out of me.
Acting: ★★☆ (2.5 / 5)
For a bunch of unknowns and relatively unknowns, everyone does an OK job. I think the only one of the lot that might be recognizable to some people is June Chadwick, who I recognized from This is Spinal Tap, the TV series V. No award winning performances here or anything - not by a long shot - but not totally awful.
Visuals: ★★★ (3 / 5)
Nothing too spectacular in terms of cinematography. Fairly average on that front.
The sets look cheesy in certain shots, but that can be forgiven, considering the budget.
The stars here are the low budget monstrosities, and gore. Certainly much heavier on the gore than Alien, which really didn't have much at all. A lot of the effects are, I will admit, fairly cheesy, but you always have to keep in mind the budget. Some of the effects aren't too bad though. They were good enough for me!
Soundtrack: ★★★ (3 / 5)
Not a great soundtrack, but I am a sucker for synths.
Conclusion:
This movie is chock-full of gratuitous nudity. They seem to have the two women naked any chance they can. They even have the women wash each other in a shower during a scene of exposition. It was a little much, but I guess I shouldn't complain, as both women looked beautiful.
All in all, I'd say this was alright, but probably only worth a watch for those that love Corman produced flicks, Alien ripoffs, or low budget sci-fi horror.
This is, obviously, a W.I.P. (Work In Progress), and will be until 2012.
Goal: 200 movies Watched: 186 movies
A list of the films I've watched in 2011. I have only included films that I have never previously watched, or haven't watched all the way through. Re-watched films won't be on here. The order of the list is the order in which I watched them, with the most recent on the top.
I am going to try to briefly comment on each movie I watch this time around, unlike my 2010 list, which I will try (at some point) to update with comments. I am no film expert or professional critic, these are just my opinions/observations. Sorry for my poor writing and punctuation; I don't write much. I suppose this will be a good practice.

How have I only now noticed this list? Lots of interesting stuff here, and I dig how you've broken down your ratings on some of the newer entries. Nicely done & I'll make sure to check back in from time to time.
@DeleriumJ
Thanks! I had to give people SOME reason to vote for this list. It would have been boring to just list all the movies I've watched, without any commentary.
@Coby
You're missing out on some of the best horror of all time, if you avoid the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. The 70s in particular were great times for the horror genre, IMO. The 80s were also pretty great though.

Thanks! I have been trying, since I started this list, to figure out the best / easiest way to rate, and comment on the movies I watch. It's pretty much one big experiment in that way. You can see a number of different methods throughout the list. I'm going to have to go back, and reformat all my older entries, as well as fill in all the missing entries (which there are a lot of).
Man...this commenting system really needs some sort of proper reply function.
Right on. You could go back & reformat them or just leave them as they are. The way it stands now you can see how it's evolved over time, which is kinda cool in itself I think. I know from doing my own list(s) for the first time this year I'm changing my ideas about how to do it next year. Also I'm learning what I can do to improve my movie-watching habits, as it seems like when I've had a focus I've watched more movies than when I'm just watching movies when I can & depending on my moods.
Agreed on the comment system. You should suggest a change to improve it!
