@sleepless101, Regarding to south park, I should remind you that creativity implies failure; many SP episodes are pieces of shit yet there are creative and funny ones which really merit praises. For HIMYM, first season is funny, not stupid funny like some others, and it has a unique character that already took his place in the pop-culture; Barney Stinson. Considering all of these, I believe they deserve to be on this list

@Lex,because in order to be creative you have to take risks; think out-of-box, try the untried, break the old paradigms... If you consider all the movies, songs, plays ( applies to business innovations as well) etc. you see that successful ones are just the %5(even less), namely breakthroughs, rest %95 is mediocre and failure. Therefore creativity, and innovation, has high risk in its nature and in many cases ends up with failure.

I think this list is missing a lot of shows, but I guess it comes down to exactly what constitutes "smartness". Kudos for "Cosmos"...that was a great series and a general science/astronomy/cosmology primer for anyone who's interested.
