Top-Rated PSP Exclusives
"The PSP hasn’t yet seen a game with this much polish, this much visual punch, or this much bloody satisfaction. Everything feels meaty, be it the clash of weapon on flesh or the substantial amount of gameplay depth and environmental design. Not only is Chains of Olympus a worthy addition to the God of War franchise, it also stands on its own as a triple-A title in the PSP library." - G4 TV
Metacritic Score: 91 GameRankings Score: 91.17% "Well, I'm flabbergasted. What more can I say? Wipeout Pure has it all; edge of your seat racing, big explosions, challenging tracks, aggressive competitors, superb graphics, exemplary cutting edge sound and is altogether one of the most well thought out and brilliantly conceived titles that it has ever been my joy to come across." - AceGamez
Metacritic Score: 88 GameRankings Score: 88.24% "The core tactical gameplay is the real gem here, and its quality still shines 10 years after its first release. It's grinding, demanding gameplay that presumes a level of dedication and competence that many modern games don't, and it's all the better for it." - GameSpy
Metacritic Score: 88 GameRankings Score: 88.07% “Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is one of those once in a console lifespan type of games, the kind that set the bar far too high for the remainder of the generation - and even for itself - leaving a new console war to (hopefully) reignite the ingenuity and innovation of developers and lead to the next great genre revolution.” - AceGamez
Metacritic Score: 87 GameRankings Score: 87.83% "Portable Ops feels like one of the few games to live up to the PSP's promise, in part because it translates the entire Metal Gear Solid experience into something that can be easily digested in small amounts...inarguably one of the best games to release on the PSP, let alone one of 2006's best." - GameSpy
Metacritic Score: 87 GameRankings Score: 86.56% "While the squishy and squashy invention of the PSP's award-winning LocoRoco perhaps comes closest to Patapon in terms of creativity and originality, the genre-straddling ingenuity and intrinsic simplicity of Pyramid/Japan Studios' horrendously addictive rhythm-based, all-action, resource management God game successfully lifts Patapon head and shoulders above most of today's videogames - PSP or otherwise." - Play.tm
Metacritic Score: 86 GameRankings Score: 86.19% "LocoRoco 2 is a shining example of how the PSP can be used to grab a share in the casual market along with hardcore gamers. LocoRoco 2 has so much charm that it is near impossible to hate. LocoRoco 2 can be enjoyed in long sittings, or quickly in a one-level run. - Extreme Gamer
Metacritic Score: 86 GameRankings Score: 86.12% "This is it, the first truly great game for the PSP. The entire game is just so polished, well-designed, and implemented that it could stand as an example of great gaming on any platform." - GamingTrend
Metacritic Score: 85 GameRankings Score: 86.28% "Dark Mirror was an incredible title that showed off the PSP, but Logan's Shadow elevates the story, gameplay and multiplayer elements to new heights. Not only does it keep the formula that made the first game so good, it smoothly improves on it." - IGN
Metacritic Score: 85 GameRankings Score: 84.25% "A success due to a number of reasons including an inspired artistic style that is simple but strikingly beautiful, characters that are both eccentric and charming, and a catchy soundtrack that you won't get out of your head." -GameShark
Metacritic Score: 83 GameRankings Score: 85.52% "It’s not hard to see that Patapon 2 is an incredible game that both fans of the first and PSP owners in general should own. I will admit that the multiplayer aspect of the game is the weakest part, but that’s only because it of its limited appeal. Other than that, the game manages to keep everything that was good about the first and build upon it." -GameFocus
Metacritic Score: 81 GameRankings Score: 86.19% "Not only is Crisis Core one of the best looking PSP games on the market today, but it also marks the best spin-off Final Fantasy title that has come out of Square's big Final Fantasy VII Compilation effort, easily blowing away such dredge as "Dirge of Cerberus." - Gaming Age
Metacritic Score: 83 GameRankings Score: 82.02% "The real 'Must-Have' game of the year for anyone who owns a PSP. It’s single-player game will steal your heart but it’s the perfect multiplayer mode that will steal your soul." - GameZone
Metacritic Score: 82 GameRankings Score: 81.54% "Probably one of the most complete packages ever to come to the PSP. It has an engaging storyline, a likeable main character, tons of reasons to play it again, and one of the greatest multiplayer outings we've ever seen on this system." - IGN
Metacritic Score: 81 GameRankings Score: 82.94% “Castlevania has never had more content packed in than it does right here, taking what many consider the two greatest games in the series and including more dialogue, more playable characters, and other nice little extras, and throwing them into a nice, convenient, must-own $30 package.” - Gamer 2.0
Metacritic Score: 80 GameRankings Score: 81.62% "Monster hunter Freedom Unite lays the foundations for more small-scale MMORPG games and proves that they can be done successfully with handheld consoles while still remaining action orientated to appeal to hack & slash fans." - Gameplanet
Metacritic Score: 81 GameRankings Score: 81.00% "The sometimes simplistic graphics could still use another boost, and enemy taunts and anguished cries can grate on the ears in their repetition, but Fireteam Bravo 2 is too much fun for such irritations to scrub the mission. SOCOM may be stumbling on its console home, but it's standing tall at its portable post." - GamePro
Metacritic Score: 81 GameRankings Score: 79.78% "One of the best examples of just how good a third-person shooter can be. The single-player mode may be a little short but it makes up for it with a multitude of modes including co-op and wireless multi-player. A definite must for any action fan with a PSP." - Cheat Code Central
Metacritic Score: 77 GameRankings Score: 79.34% "Heavily recommended since the game has a top-notch presentation, great sense of humor, and is one of the few PSP games that you’ll really get something out of if you only have 20 minutes to play." - PGNx Media
Metacritic Score: 75 Game Rankings Score: 75.78% "Make no mistake, this is Gran Turismo as you remember it but on a handheld, and done in a way that betters what I imagined was possible." - VideoGamer
Metacritic Score: 74 GameRankings Score: 74.98% "A rag-doll requiem of destruction, so gratuitous that it defies moral probity. Like all the best shock and awe titles, the vice is polished so sweetly you'll barely notice you've gone to hell." - PlayStation Official Magazine UK
Metacritic Score: 74 GameRankings Score: 74.46% "Amazingly polished for such a dramatic change in design philosophy, and the fun you'll have playing it more than makes up for its troublesome camera, tepid multiplayer, and absence of actual bloodshed." - GameSpy
Metacritic Score: 72 GameRankings Score: 73.25% “Star Wars Battlefront fans will certainly find a lot to like about Renegade Squadron and, even though the controls can be a bit frustrating at times, all the changes and fun game modes make this one worth a look.” - GameZone

I broke down and finally purchased a PSP-3000 about nine months ago and I haven't found many purchase worthy games worth buying in my opinion. Looks like I may be wrong. I only on God of War:Chains of Olympus and GTA:Chinatown Wars. This though is a great list to use as a reference guide.
