Top 8 Best RPG Consoles
The PSP is able to play just about every great RPG in history. From ports to psone classics RPG lovers without a psp are really missing out. Ports and remakes of Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile, Persona 1,2 and 3, Lunar, Final Fantasy I,II and IV and disgaea 1 and 2. Thats not to say the psp is lacking in in original titles with games like Brave Story, Half Minute Hero, Crisis Core and about a million smaller japanese rpg's localised by XSEED.
In terms of overall gaming I view the PS2 as the best console ever but for RPG's it still comes in a very respectable third place. Games like Dragon Quest 8, Persona 3 and 4, Final Fantasy X and XII made the PS2 the generational pick when iit came to RPG lovers. Original titles like Kingdom Hearts, Rogue Galaxy and Dark Cloud were also impressive.
Sony's Playstation just misses out on number one spot with some of the all time great RPG's. Once again Squaresoft was king with hits like Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX and Tactics, Vagrant Story, Xenogears as well as ports of most of there SNES games. Other greats include Breath of Fire 3, Tactics Ogre, Grandia, Lunar 1 and 2, Suikoden and Legend of Dragoon.
The SNES just beats out the original Playstation to the number one spot. The list of great RPG's is long with numerous Squaresoft games like Final Fantasy VI,IV and V, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana along with other greats like Illusion of Gaia, Soul Blazer, Breath of Fire, Earthbound, Mario RPG, Dragon Quests and Star Ocean. If your a fan of the RPG genre these games are the best of the best and can be played as ports on other systems. The SNES more than deserves the crown of Greatest RPG Console Ever.
