Bob Dylan was also a fan of Hendrix's cover of 'Watchtower'. He was quoted as saying that's the way he should have done it. He always uses the Hendrix arrangement whenever he performs it live.

The first time he ever heard his songs done electrically was the early covers by The Byrds, which he also enjoyed, and remarked, "You can even dance to it!"

The Who do a good 'Summertime Blues' cover on their 'Live at Leeds' album.

And I agree Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
