awesome list, though if you could find a way to squeeze in 'Layer Cake', maybe at the expense of American History X (which doesnt fit into to the other types of crime movies in this list - its a racism crime, not a gangster / theft / heist type of crime), it would be untouchable list.

You've got some great titles here but I can't see anyone giving a higher rating for Bad Lieutenant and Dead Presidents over Chinatown and Dog Day Afternoon. But still we're all entitled to our own opinion.

Actually a few I would put on there are: Bonnie and Clyde (1967), In Cold Blood (1967), The Asphalt Jungle (1950) or even Heat (1995).
