TimeSplitters: Future Perfect - GameCube
This was one of the first FPS I ever played online(Ps2). It's amazing for all the same reasons as Perfect Dark and Goldeneye, no need to repeat.
Perfect Dark - Nintendo 64
This game was amazing for it's time. Great story, music, weapons etc.. I can go on and on about this game and how much time I spent playing with friends. XBLA updated port? SWEET!
GoldenEye 007 - Nintendo 64
Can you say best game based on a movie ever? You know a game is amazing when it outshines the movie it's based on. Yeah and it's James Bond too, that's no small feat.
TimeSplitters 2 - PlayStation 2
Free Radical really hit their mark with this one. So much to do: single player missions, challenges, multiplayer. Amazing, amazing game.
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat - Xbox 360
Battlefield 2 for the Ps2 really got me into army games. The maps, vehicles and weapons made this one incredibly fun. And the 360 remake was even better. Still my favorite army FPS to this day, sorry COD4.
F.E.A.R. - Xbox 360
Call me crazy but where did this game go? I know it was a late port of an old game to a new console but there was nothing bad about this game or it's multiplayer. Well unless you're a graphics whore.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - Xbox 360
If you don't know what COD4 is you really shouldn't be looking at FPS lists.
TimeSplitters - PlayStation 2
The game that started it all. The original TimeSplitters ushered in the era of fantastic FPS for the Ps2.
Perfect Dark Zero - Xbox 360
As much as this game disappointed me in comparison to the original it was a great game when not compared to it's predecessor. The multiplayer was definitely a blast, as was the co-op.
Quake 4 - Xbox 360
Incase you haven't noticied by now, I like fast paced run n gun FPS. They don't get much more run n gun than Quake 4. Sadly it's matchmaking system sucked but I still had a blast playing this online, ya know for the short period of time that it had a community.
Top 10 First-Person Shooters in my personal opinion, based mainly on gameplay mechanics and balance. No need for an intriguing story line here.
