1. Kingkiller Chronicles 1: The Name of the Win... - Rothfuss, Patrick
This book was amazing. The author puts you deep in the main character's head as his tells his life tale. I couldn't put down the first two books and am counting down the days until the final installment.

2. The Way of Shadows: The Night Angel Trilogy:... - Brent Weeks
A crazy trilogy about an assassin and his apprentice. The books never get boring as the action was non stop. A very gritty world with interesting characters. The story wasn't anything too clever but the author does not disappoint.

3. Ready Player One (2011)
If you appreciate video games, you owe it to yourself to read this book.

4. The Warded Man (2010)
A very interesting setting in a somewhat post apocalyptic world; not necessarily post apocalyptic to our own world. There are five books planned and the first two have not went into detail about how this cruel world came to be. The author leaves giant holes in the story which slowly start to fill in as you read on. I really enjoy the world the author has created and can't wait for the next installments!

5. The Blade Itself (The First Law: Book One) - Joe Abercrombie
A very slow paced series. I made slow progress through each book, but never regretted picking them up. Where The First Law shines is in the main characters. Each one is very unique and very ironic. I am glad I read through these but I am glad I am done!

You might like The Wheel of Time series. I read the first of them, The Eye of the World, and really liked it. Though I am a guy that is intimidated by a huge number of pages and volumes (I think there are like nine total, possibly more), you may not be!

I am actually very interested in it because it is a completed series... but it is very daunting because of fact is is so long. Though I actually don't know what it is about exactly...
