This political satire saw Tintin going to Russia and featured Hergé's distrust of the Soviet Union. It wasn't re-published after it's first run.

Tintin and Snowy venture to the Congo. In modern times, this book has been criticized for it's racist themes and colonial mentality. Hergé himself admits that the comic was influenced by his employers and regards it as one of his "sins of youth".

This is the first book that I read as a child. Here, Tintin goes to Chicago to rid the city of its criminals pursuing his quarry to the Mid West where he encounters a tribe of Native Americans.

While on a cruise on the Mediterranean Sea, Tintin gets roped into a helping an Egyptologist find the tomb of Pharaoh Kih-Oskh. Along the way he has to deal with being mistaken for an opium smuggler, conscripted into the Arabian Army and tangling with a powerful cult.

This is the sequel to "Cigars of the Pharoah" and Tintin is pursuing an international gang of drug smugglers. His quest leads him to China.

This is an old series - first comic was published in 1930 (i think) and the last one in the late 70s so it's very much a product of its time but still a good read.
