I absolutely loved this movie. I'm not 100% sure it should be classified as a romantic comedy but I laughed and they fell in love so I'm adding it. It was adorable and funny and I fell hard for both of the main characters myself. Can't get enough.
A lovely story about a boy who wanted to be more than society would let him but changed his stars anyway. Jocelyn is the woman who loved him despite his low birth and would have gone anywhere to be with him.
Not gonna lie, I only saw this movie for Chris Evans but it was shockingly good. I mean, it's the usual formulaic romance movie, but the jokes and chemistry were pretty good and Chris was his usual charming self.
And after seeing it now for the second time it was just as good. I've even improved my rating for Anna Faris because of her performance in this one.
Do I love Tom? Oh yes I do. Do I hate Summer? So very much.
But I love this movie because it's not your typical romance movie, it's more about Tom chasing his dreams.
I love this one because of the chemistry between the two main actors. I thought they worked well together and I absolutely loved James Marsden who isn't even a fave of mine.
I only like the scenes with Ryan and his daughter and the woman he truly loves but I think that's the point. He only seemed truly happy when he was with her.
I went into this movie thinking it was going to be awful. I didn't even want to see it but got out voted. Now I can honestly say it was surprisingly very good. Alex Pettyfer was charismatic and Vanessa Hudgens wasn't too bad, but Neil Patrick Harris was freaking hilarious. It was cute.
This one is more personal. I totally connected with Mandy Moore's character in a way that doesn't happen very often. It's so hard when you are so close to your mother to make a choice that she will disapprove of.
I liked This Means War and would have rated it higher except it seemed like Tuck never really liked her the way FDR did. It kind of felt like he was just in it for the competition and the hope.
Maybe it's just something about Mandy Moore but this one connected personally for me too. The idea that your life is so closely monitored that all you want is a little freedom was not foreign to me when I was younger. I can still watch this one and remember that feeling though. I just thought it was lovely.
I absolutely love Paul Bettany and he is just as handsome, charming and funny as ever in this movie. He out shines Kirsten who I don't even like very much.
This is another one I just thought was cute. Jimmy Fallon was adorable and Drew was Drew. It's in every way the cliche and didn't really offer anything new or different but I can watch it over and over again.
I love romantic comedies! I also found myself agreeing with you time and again as I went through your list. Very nicely done...and now I have a few "new-to-me" movies to watch.
I'm still on the fence about Wimbledon though. I'm a huge fan of Bettany but I can't stand Kirsten Dunst either...=D
Maybe that was it. :) I'm watching more romances this month, with Valentine's Day coming up, so I'll probably watch it again myself. Let me know what you think, if you watch it again? :)
totally get what u said concerning "Because I Said So"
although tacky and all but i can't help but relate to Mandy's Moor character in the movie the clumsy girl short on luck
Good : A knight's tale, 10 things I hate about you, 50 first dates, Fever Pitch
very Average or even Bad: 27 dresses, Guess who, Because I said so, Chasing Liberty
OK : Wimbledon
But these are all recent movies, what about older stuff like "Four Weddings and a Funeral' or 'Groundhog day'?

I recommend This Means War, in case you didn't watch it. :)
Gaby, that's why I put 500. Sometimes a romantic comedy sets itself apart by not having a classic storyline. Plus, I loved the end.
This means war is a good choice though.
