chipping in my two cents. This list cannot be completed without atleast thinking over watching The Twelve Kingdoms and especially Galaxy Express 999. Maybe Valerian and Laureline too.

Interesting list. I'd agree, The Twelve Kingdoms should be on here. And I would also recommend Moribito.
