"Closed". A progressive pop/rock concept album about a father being accused of sexually molesting his son. Ingenious lyrics ranging from hilarious to heartbreaking.

"Night Guests". After years, I think this has become my favorite album by the "Young Urban Perverts". Brilliant pop/rock with fantastic arrangements. The lyrics are some of Martikainen's best: "Meidän on annettu pudota" for one is a beautiful depiction of life and death - the best possible way to end this album.

"Plastic Yields". An odd alternative/progressive/pop/whatever rock album by the eccentric young folks from the Northern Finland city of Rovaniemi. Imaginative songwriting and weirdly atmospheric lyrics.

"A Man Forgotten at the Gas Station". Punk rock about living in a shit-hole and having nothing else to do than speed.

A Finnish prog classic from 1974. Brilliant compositions and interesting lyrical concept (yes, here's another concept album). Superb playing too.

"Quilted Jackets and Steel From Toledo". Another concept album! The songwriting is typical for early YUP: creative, all-over-the-place, progressive punk rock. The lyrics are as bonkers, telling a blackly comic story of a detective investigating a factory producing mattresses and jackets with human hair as filling.

"An Evil Country". A tight EP by the "Lou Reed of Finland". Like a weird bastard child of Reed, Tom Waits and Nick Cave.
