The war between the human resistance and the forces of Skynet takes a deadly twist as Terminators from an alternate timeline invade John Connor's present-day realm in a quest to kill the future leader: Now, another cyborg has traveled across the dimensions to protect John, and nothing is going to prevent her from carrying out her mission.

There are lingering hallucinations of a dual reality, one where he communicates with Eliza, a beautiful woman who's actually a T-X. When he's drawn into contact with her, she assumes his identity and sets out to kill John Connor and Kate Brewster. The real Paul gets to them first to warn them, but now nobody trusts Paul, not even himself, and if he doesn't come through for John and Kate, all of mankind will be lost.
