Herein you'll find what I consider to be the best movies of the 1960s that I have seen, arranged by both quality and how much I love each film. Several of these I've rated based on my memories of the films, as I haven't seen them in many years (the Bond films & Pink Panther series both fall into this category)...thus any re-watches may alter the order of this list in the future. Anything missing is most likely due to my having not seen the film yet.
If I had to pick a single decade that I feel I'm the most behind on, great cinema-wise, I'd say it's the 60's. For one thing, I still haven't discovered that handful of quintessential directors that really made a name for themselves during that decade.
Ha, I mentioned to jaytoast that I may make February "Foreign Film February" in which i focus nearly exclusively on finding and watching good foreign flicks. In keeping with the alliteration aspect, if I still feel behind on 60s movies come next September...oh buddy it is on.
I love seeing The Jungle Book on here, one of my favorites from my childhood, and I need to rewatch the Pink Panther, it has been so long since I have seen it that I don't remember it that well, although I'm sure that it's better than the Steve Martin remake - Not a fan of Lawrence Of Arabia, even though I love Peter O'Toole, however I do recognize that it's a classic, and even own the 2-disk special edition DVD - so I'm sure I'll watch it again.
I love old movies and the 60s had some great ones that defined that decade as much as the movies of the 40s and 50s defined theirs. Some of my favorites, like The Odd Couple and Cool Hand Luke, made your list.
I might suggest you add David Lean's other great 60's epic, Doctor Zhivago.

Nice Choices!
