Field Recordings and Plunderphonics
Steve Reich recorded a mad preacher and a bird flapped its wings; Reich decided to loop the recording and created It's Gonna Rain. Plunderphonics
Albums that sample music from other musicians. Plunderphonics albums usually put more emphasis on the musicality of the voice samples; the voice samples usually aren't at the forefront of your attention.
I'm not a fan of most hip-hop, but I like trip-hop and plunderphonics, both heavily influenced by hip-hop. An underrated album. Moby often samples the field recordings of the folklorist Alan Lomax (he recorded many folk artists). Mr. Saturn's rating:
Tape Music
These albums are instrumental.
The Disintergration Loops is a looped playing of music the artist created and found in in bad shape. The ambient music becomes slowly destroyed and deteriorated; Basinski said he played it with his friends during the 9/11 attacks. If you like music with loops, I recommend my list of glitch albums. |

I really enjoyed the second Steve Reich one.
