Father Phil: "Where does Tony rank Goodfellas?" Christopher: "There was a time in my life when being with the Tony Soprano crew was all I ever dreamed of." The scene in which Tony chases down Mahaffey by car on an HMO lawn was inspired by a similar car chase in an orchard in this classic 1974 neo-noir film starring Jack Nicholson.
It is the film which Father Phil and Carmela are watching on laserdisc.
Carmela: "Tony watches Godfather II all the time. He says the camerawork looks just as good as in the movie theater." Father Phil: "Tony prefers II, not I?" Christopher: "Louis Brasi sleeps with the fishes." Tony: "Screened The Bank Dick last night. "Did you warble, my little wren?" Christopher: "This ain't negotiation time. This is Scarface, final scene, fuckin' bazookas under each arm, "Say hello to my little friend!" Meadow: "Not really. Casino we like: Sharon Stone, 70's clothes, pills" Carmela: "Good as Willem Dafoe was, I cannot picture that Jesus looked like him. ... Not that he didn't do a good job, Willem Dafoe, but the story's confusing. So he gets down off the cross?" Father Phil: "You know, originally, Bobby D was supposed to have that role? ... "You talkin' to me, Pilate? Well, you must be talkin' to me, 'cause I don't see nobody else here except Barrabas here." Carmela: "Oh, and I know you love that DVD player. I just got Remains of the Day. See? Do I know you?" Carmela: "I was just thinkin' about when we watched Casablanca last week...You know when Bogey says, "Of all the lousy gin joints in the world, why'd she have to pick mine"? Christopher: "Keanu Reeves, The Devil's Advocate, you see that?...Keanu's a lawyer, gets all turned on by money, power and the Devil. Then his wife says to him, "You're not the man I married," leaves him." A poster with Bogart from the film is on the wall of the pork store.
Tony says he may have dreamed about a bird because he watched this movie last week.
Tony tells Uncle Junior he should watch this on his DVD player.
In Season 1, Episode 08 ("The Legend Of Tennessee Moltisanti") the comic does a joke about it.
