Seinfeld (1989)
The most subversive piece of television I've ever seen, and by far the funniest. Every episode can succinctly and accurately define the innate apathy to everything that we in fact love or hate. All of its characters are brilliant (Jerry is the funniest character in TV), and from season 3-8 I can't think of a single episode that isn't hilarious.

Decker (2014)
The best TV show right now - this includes the initial web show. It's the most unsubtle satire ever but it works on so many different levels that I find it consistently hilarious. Just watch the "eyes in the sky bird's eye view" and witness the brilliance of the Heidecker/Tarkington duo...

It's so hard for me to rate this show with any accuracy. The first and third seasons were great, the second is the only thing in TV that can stack up to Seinfeld imo. The fourth season was really good, and so was the fifth (though less so). The following seasons with Michael were decent, and the ones without him were pretty awful. So basically the show's highs are almost without rival, at least in its decade, but its lows are almost intolerable at time.

Only flaw is that it doesn't have "rewatchability" but the shows highs are absolutely brilliant and literally all of its characters are wonderfully done.

Cheers (1982)
I've only seen the first five seasons and about half of he last one, and all I've seen was fantastic, even taken with its flaws. Sam Malone has to be the overall greatest character ever in television.

On Cinema (2012)
Not as good as it's spinoff Decker but still a hilarious spoof of artistic criticism in general. Heidecker's recent comedy projects are a revelation

The classic childhood comedy that's still really witty

South Park (1997)
Pretty hit or miss, and after around season 11-12 the quality went way down, but there is still an entire archive of hilarity that I treasure.

Inconsistently funny, but it's highs can be absolutely wonderful. Ricky is one of TV's funniest characters.

A lot of it isn't very good, but Larry David can still be fucking hilarious and there's enough in the show that is laugh out loud funny without being Seinfeld fan service for me to enjoy the show as a whole.

Not really sure what a sitcom is, so basically I'll just define it as "non-sketch TV"

Jerry over George or Kramer? Them be figtin' words, boy. Also, Seinfeld isn't really subversive, just amoral in an existential sense. The finale really is a parallel to The Stranger, and Jerry doing his stand up in prison is effectively the same as main character of The Stranger feeling nothing for the contempt of those witnessing his execution. Those who've tried to follow in Seinfeld's footsteps have failed, mistaking Jerry's disregard for conventional morality and values as an attempt to offend good taste and create characters actively difficult to like. George Costanza is a shockingly realistic portrait of narcissism and bitterness, and episodes regularly depict frustration with social convention and values that seem increasingly burdensome, no character on East Bound and Down or Malcolm in the Middle nor any episode can have this said of it. Subversion expresses intent, Jerry Seinfeld just doesn't give enough a shit to subvert.

I find the Big Bang Theory pretty damn funny, easily the funniest show of its kind (feel good comedy, that is). It gets sugary, and certainly not every joke works, but it's pretty regularly hilarious.

I've never watched the Big Bang Theory, but I don't see myself liking it. Maybe I would, and someday I'll watch it probably but idk.

You're right; I forgot how relatable I find Jerry's apathy. Honestly I think Kramer is only about as funny as Elaine (both are obviously great, but you catch my drift), and George IS on Jerry's level but there's something about Jerry's sarcasm that hits home for me. He's the modern everyday man: selfish, amoral, apathetic and a total smartass. I guess I just see a lot more of myself in Jerry, but George is fantastic also.

I don't know if you've ever seen it but I've been watching clips of All in the Family and it's about the funniest thing I've ever seen that's not Seinfeld.
