I would replace Equilibrium with 1984 and leave Donnie Darko out of it (why do you consider it as sci-fi?. And in the Star Trek franchise, I'd choose a more original one. But the rest works fine with me, as a "starter kit".

I'd replace THX 1138 (1971) with Logan's Run (1976).

I'd check over your description too, few typo's. "special effetcs (remeber: our so fresh sepcial effecst"

Special effects remember

Description

If you're a sci-fi fan, like me, you probably have watched them all. If you're not, and wants to try deepest in the genre, here's a little guide of some of the best of them.

It has a lot of different plots and don't expect them all to have spaceships or aliens. Movies are called "sci-fi" when it's elements are possible within scientific laws and theories, within the story context, of course.

Go ahead and see trought the masks and dated special effetcs (remember tath our so fresh special effects are going to be stupid someday), and you'll not regret. But be careful: it can be addictive. :) They're ordered by release date.

Suggestions are welcome.

P.S.: I'm assuming most of you have watched movies like Matrix, Back to the Future, MIB and more popular pieces like those.
