Lea Thompson starred in Back to the Future, Red Dawn, Some Kind of Wonderful, and All the Right Moves. To say she was a symbol of the eighties would be an understatement.
In Back to the Future(I), Claudia Wells played Marty McFly's girlfriend Jennifer (why was every girl named Jennifer in the 80's?). She also starred in the short lived "Fast Times" television series. My biggest crush as a kid was for Marty's Girlfriend Jennifer.
After seeing Mia Sara in Legend I was melted. After seeing her in Ferris Bueller's day off, I died and came back to life. I exaggerate, but you get the point.
I remember seeing Kelly Preston in Space Camp and Twins. I think a big part of the reason I watched Twins every time it aired on HBO was because of Kelly Preston.
I watched Amanda Pays first in the television series Max Headroom, and in the movie Leviathon. She brought beauty and refinement to both a fictional television station, and an underwater research facility.
Jami Gertz really did a great job of playing a reluctant vampire in Lost Boys. Like the character Michael, I would have considered becoming one if it meant being with her.
After Scarface and before Batman Returns, Michelle Pfeiffer starred in a movie called LadyHawke, which is the role that I remember her in first. It was also in seeing this movie that I decided that I had a huge kid crush on her.
Demi Moore played a rebel musician in One Crazy Summer. She also acted in a number of roles with Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy and many of the other well knowm young actors of the 80's. She was a definitely a staple of the 80's, and one of my favorites.
I liked all of the women in the Indiana Jones trilogy. But the one I found the most attractive was definitely Alison Doody, as the selfish and manipulative Elsa.
Long before Fairuza Balk was in the Craft, she was in a TV movie called "The Worst Witch." Ever since then, I've liked her in just about everything she's in.
Christina Applegate in Married with Children. I also liked her in Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. Really, she could have done anything, and I would have liked her, because I had a mad crush on her.
Joseph Grey's rating:
Going back to my early days, there were some faces that really stuck with me as being especially memorable. They must have, because I remember them twenty years later.
Sir, you have my vote. I totally agree with Lea Thompson and Christina Applegate. Ally Sheedy is my favourite from Breakfast Club (other than Judd Nelson haha) I love Pfeiffer, although I fell in love with her in Batman Returns, I think she's awesome in her 1980s films. As for Claudia Wells, she's my preferred Jennifer. She was way hotter than Elizabeth Shue. Great list!
Ah, memories. I'd remove a couple and add Mary Stuart Masterson (who won my heart in "Some Kind of Wonderful," Diane Franklin ("Better Off Dead," "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"), and E.G. (Elizbath) Daily ("Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, "Bad Dreams"), but yeah, pretty much spot on. :)
@NatalieAleph: Yes, the 80's and 90's were pretty good decades for pretty women in film. Not the best (who could say what decade was the best?) but it was a great time to grow up in.
@francis: I thought Mary Stuart Masterson was a better catch in Some Kind of Wonderful. But, I didn't see that movie until I was in high school, so I didn't include it in the list.
=D I've been working on a similar list the past couple of days in my spare time. Funny that! Hope to have mine up soon.
Great list! Mia Sara and Amanda Pays are on mine, as well. Seeing your list brought back some memories of my own. Thanks, man!!
