This list seems pretty consistent with the Listal RPG userbase's views on the series.

I'd love to read little comments on each game and why they fit in where they do! =]

Oh I assure you, Listal is quickly building into an addiction. My girlfriend will be out of town all weekend visiting family and I intend to veg out on here and thoroughly annotate all my lists. The one inconsistency I've noticed on my ff list is that most people I talk to seem to enjoy VIII far more and IX far less than me. I will never understand this phenomenon.

I'm glad to see V so high. I always felt that was one of the more under-appreciated Final Fantasy games, sandwiched between IV and VI, which seem to get all the hype.

Agreed. I loved five, I think it gets overlooked due to the story being kind of weak, but game play wise I think it may be the best in the series. Oh, and it introduced Gilgamesh. Enough said.
