Awesome!! Thanks for doing this list. Linklater is wonderful, and those top two movies hold a super special place in my movie heart. I haven't yet made an all-time list of my favorite films, because I feel that there are a lot of movies out there that I still "need to see" in order to make it, but if I made it today, I think BEFORE SUNRISE would be way at the top. What a masterful script that movie has. BEFORE SUNSET would probably be a little lower, but it'd still be up there. I think the reason why it'd be lower is that I'm still in the age range of the characters of the first film, which means I haven't yet experienced that apparent sense of disillusionment you get in your 30s, when you're like "Is that it? Am I not gonna do anything else with my life?" So, maybe I'll be able to relate to BEFORE SUNSET more in a few years. I've decided that if I ever happen to meet Linklater in person, I'll fall to my knees and beg him to make a third film. His movies are largely dialogue-based, yet they're so freaking magical and engrossing, which is something I can't say of so many other, more "technically impressive" movies.

I did like DAZED AND CONFUSED a lot. TAPE and ME AND ORSON WELLES are very good. Haven't seen SUBURBIA yet. SLACKER is the only Linklater movie that I couldn't really get into. Oh, and I'm not sure if you know this, but Jesse and Celine have a one-scene appearance in WAKING LIFE - let me know what you think when you see it. Kudos on the list again.

I still need to watch most of these, so I won't comment much just yet. I will say that I loved Dazed & Confused (as you know) and couldn't stand School of Rock (too cutesy). I'll also add that the ones not listed here I've seen are The Newton Boys, which I really enjoyed, and Fast Food Nation, which really disappointed me.

Wow, you rated Dazed & Confused (5 stars) like me. A lot of people got upset at my rating on that film. I really don't understand what the hype is about on that film. Glad to know someone else rated it a 5.

Yay, I'm not alone!
