Enjoyed 'Splinter' for it's cheese factor, pretty good popcorn flick.
Loved 'Them' and 'Timecrimes', although not sure the latter really counts as horror.
'Mothman Prophecies' gave me the creeps when I was young, but in adulthood it has lost it's effect.
Some decent picks, but otherwise pretty dismal. 'Right At Your Door' and 'The Eye' have no business here.
ethereal_tard, I was really, really disappointed with "Stuck". I thought I would like it... but it really fell short for me. I feel like it could have been creepy and even disturbing, hell, even tense as all hell, but Stuart Gordon chose to not to do any of those. Instead, he just made a film that kinda ridiculously unscary.
Matt, I can see your qualms with "Right at Your Door"... it's definitely subjective. But I really liked it. I thought it was intense. But I don't expect other people to rank it on ther favorites lists.
As for "The Eye"... I hope you're not thinking I'm talking about the Jessica Alba one. On the other hand, if you DO know I'm talking about the Japanese one, well, I have no freakin' clue why you'd want me to take it off this list.
Also, "[Rec]" isn't on here because I thought it was boring and thought the "first person camera perspective" was just a gimmick that didn't help the story at all. Plus, I'm just sick of zombie films altogether. However, I will say it is one of the BETTER zombie films out there.
Dhagone, I didn't like "The Hills Have Eyes". At all. The Wes Craven one was way better. Wayyyy better. Horror movies don't have to have "gore" for me to like them.
Nice to see quite a few films that have gotten 'panned' by even die hard horror fans. Cheers...
I'd have to give Stuart Gordons, 'Stuck' the nod here.
yeah and 'Right at Your Door' was one of the worst movies I've seen in the last 6 months. it made my shitlist..
