what are some of those japanese games from the first and second rows? i'd like to see what are some of your favorites out of these.

They're mostly "sound novels," which are basically in the storytelling style of the Choose Your Own Adventure books. Blood: the Last Vampire is after the anime.

As for my favorites, those are The Thing, Echo Night: Beyond, Fatal Frame, Silent Hill 2, Obscure, Siren, and Michigan.

It's pretty sad how few new Horror games there are in this generation compared to the PS2 generation (especially Survival Horror games!)

Less Horror, less RPGs, more first person shooters. Ugh -_-

Thankfully, I still have a backlog of old games I need to play.

And damn the PS2 sure did have a lot of survival horror games. These are my favorite genere of games next to RPGs.
