Day 5 - A song that reminds you of someone
Dave Matthews was my best friends favorite band we went to many concerts together - even though he liked them more than I did, we always had a good time - and DMB grew on me after a while. portlander's rating:
Day 6 - A song that reminds of you of somewhere
Reminds me of Philadelphia for obvious reasons :) portlander's rating:
Day 08 - A song that reminds you of a certain event
There were many great performances during Live Aid, this was the best one because it summed up what the day was about so well - I always think of this moment when I listen to David Bowie. portlander's rating:
Day 07 - A song that you know all the words to
John Denver was the first musician I really loved and his was the first concert I went to Sunshine On my Shoulders was the last song and 15,000 people sang it together - still gives me chills thinking about it to this day. portlander's rating:
Day 9 - A song that reminds you of your parents
My parents danced to Ramblin Rose at their wedding and it was always their song. portlander's rating:
Day 10 - A song that you can dance to
It is a song I think anyone can dance to - even me. Bonus track Bruce dancing with his Mom at The Spectrum in Philadelphia. portlander's rating:
Day 11 - A song that makes you sleepy
Probably the most mellow piece of music ever composed Day 13 - Favorite use of a song you love in a movie
Runner Up Both are Brilliant. portlander's rating:
Day 14 - A song from your favorite male vocalist
As much as I loved John Lennon, Paul was my favorite Beatle portlander's rating:
Day 15 - A song from your favorite female vocalist
Bonus Track Just because it was so electrifying - one of my favorite Live Aid Performances portlander's rating:
Day 16 - A song that no one would expect you to love
I like Classic Rock/Pop better than Hard Rock/Heavy Metal, so I didn't think I would like Led Zeppelin - but I watched them play Stairway To Heaven at Live Aid and it has been one of my favorite songs ever since. Day 17 - A song that describes you
Haven't found what I'm looking for, but I am still searching :) portlander's rating:
Day 18 - A song that you used to love but now hate
Used to love this song until I learned how true it is. portlander's rating:
Day 19 - A song from an artist you wish more people liked
I know Rod Stewart isn't real popular and as a live performer I do have to admit he is kind of, well, Bad - but he did have some great songs and Forever Young was one of them. portlander's rating:
Day 21- A song from your favorite album
Born To Run is included in my Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits CD - I tend to buy greatest hits CDs of the performers I like - by the way, the man knows how to give a live performance - Rod Stewart could take lessons. Day 22 - A song that you listen to when you’re angry
Perfect song to listen to when you're mad at the world. portlander's rating:
Day 23 - A song that you listen to when you’re happy
Perfect song to listen to when you're happy with the world Day 24 - A song that you listen to when you’re sad
This music is sad and uplifting at the same time Day 25 - A song that you want to play at your wedding
My favorite Elvis song portlander's rating:
Day 26 - A song that you want to play at your funeral
Let the record show that Frank's way was a lot better than my way. portlander's rating:
Day 27 - A song that makes you laugh
I've listened to this song a thousand times and it still sounds like 'There's a bathroom on the right' - LOL portlander's rating:
Day 28 - A song from your childhood
Sang this song around the campfire at camp for two summers - so it would also qualify as a song I know all the words to Day 29 - A song you love about Summer
Can't surf a lick, but this song always makes me want to head for the beach portlander's rating:
Day 30 - A song that changed your music taste in some way
More like a day that changed my musical taste I couldn't fit the whole Live Aid Concert in here, so I am showing the USA and UK finales. Paul McCartney's mike doesn't work for the first two minutes - don't adjust your sets. Before Live Aid I wasn't that big a fan of music - I was aware of its existence, but I didn't listen to it that much - Live Aid was my rock and roll epiphany. |
