The challenge of the film paintings was trying to create a personal interpretations from another artist's images and vision. Many hours were spent viewing DVDs and making sketches of various still scenes to try and choose either the best moments to abstract or to choose various elements to combine into one painting.
Paintings that have been either directly or conceptually inspired by a cinema.
Recreating the image, memory or feeling from a movie still or scene into the new static media of paint, open for fresh interpretation.
