You know--the kind of books that pompous literary profs would deem unfit for the literary canon, and that may or may not make some pretty good movies.

There are SO many that I have limited the field to only the ones that I have either seen or read. Sorry, but this list could get monstrous!

Good list,but I don't understand why won't you ever read Dan Brown's books?They are the best books in my opinion,my fav one is Angels and Demons and the second fav is The Da Vinci Code but I read all of his books.I haven't seen the movies yet but I heard that they weren't so good.The main characther,Robert Langdon has nothing to do with Tom Hanks,they're two different worlds.Tom Hanks is a good actor,but was a bad choice for this role in my opinion.Sorry for the long comment,except that thing it's a good list and you got my vote :)
