Extremely racist (and no, not in any good way) and simply just dumb film. A capitalist bitch realises a fat negro called 'Michael' isn't stupid after all, though he's supposed to be, and actually is very skilled yankee-football player. All this and none more filled with unbearable sentimentalism.

Oh fuck. This has to be one of the most horribly sentimental films ever known to mankind.

Has some decent ideas, but almost everything with it still sucks donkey balls. Too preaching to be taken seriously at any point. I can imagine how pissed Cronenberg must be to Haggis for using the title in this.

Well I might agree that Hanks made his best performance in Forrest Gump. But then again, how hard is it to play your own retarded self? Sucks ass as a film also.

Titanic (1997)
Bit of a cliché to put Titanic in a list of this sort, but it's impossible to justify the praise it had at the time it was released. Hense, it is overrated shit.

Pearl Harbor (2001)
Well, this "film" can't be called overrated by any sense, but total shit it is.

This one thinks it has a point, but even the point is taken from other movies.

Praised by many critics, bashed by others. The fact: Unwatchable piece of horse shit.

I am not sure, how many people define this film as a "masterpiece" or anything like that, but the fact still is that it is absolutely horrible film.

Overly sentimental patrionist propaganda. Decent film, good opening, but overrated as shit.

Many of these films have made many people cry. I was one of them, I cried blood.

Saving Private Ryan overly sentimental? What sort of happy pills are you on? The opening scenes of terrified soldiers standing ankle deep in their own vomit as landing craft make the final approach to the beaches can hardly be called 'overly sentimental'
Posted: 9 years, 2 months ago at Jun 7 11:26
Well, I do agree that the opening scenes are pretty good, but there's still about two hours of film after that wasted for syruppy tear droppings and the fucking graveyard scene, which makes the whole film almost completely useless. One of the worst last scenes in the history of cinema.

One of the best lists on Listal. And just because Crash is on this. I fucking hate that dumb movie. It makes me wanna puke my guts out.

almost is rigth, very good list. I.A is only a good movie to me not outstanding, the rest is awarded crap.

A.I. is a masterpiece man.
But except that, great list.

Kudos. I completely agree on everything you say here.
(Haven't seen Pearl Harbor, though. Nor do I ever intend to.)

Good list - the worst thing about Hollywood - Zack Snyder flicks - visually impressive but ultimately bad movies

kudos for naming Spielberg movies in there - has he actually mad a good movie since 2000?
Posted: 6 years, 1 month ago at Jun 20 15:45
Good list, but I disagree with Titanic and Saving Private Ryan.
Posted: 6 years, 1 month ago at Jun 20 16:10
I saw 11 films on this list and I like most of these movies, so I disagree with this list. I can only support the Pearl Harbor and Titanic.

Crash captures Los Angeles like no other movie I've seen. I'm with you for most of this list, but Crash and Saving Private Ryan are deserving of all the praise they get.

P.S. What is 'patrionic'?

I want one added to the list...Batman Begins - I even like Nolan's films in general - but other than making Batman "realistic" it was a snooze-fest
Posted: 6 years, 1 month ago at Jun 21 8:31
@escafeld

the Wolf does say the beginning of Saving Private Ryan is good - imho the first 20 minutes are excellent, but the film plummets into BS very very quick afterwards

I completely agree with you on a lot of them except Saving Private Ryan... I am a hardcore Army dude and I was crying at the end... actually the last time I cried!
Judging from some of these movies I would imagine you were with your girlfriend and she made you watch them...
Let me tell you horrible I thought Titanic was... I was at this woman's house... she had a huge ass and I was over there to tap it... and she pulls out Titanic and I went home...

Pretty good. I thought Gump had some laughs between all the nostalgia crap - but not funny enough. AI would have been better if Kubrick finished it. The other one that kills me to watch it, is Shawshank Redemption. Almost 3 hours of sentimental bs with the most ridiculously impossible escape scene ever. Yet, somehow its rated #1 on IMDB.
Posted: 5 years, 10 months ago at Oct 16 4:07
I agree with The Butterfly Effect. It defiantly didn't have a point it was just a complete waste of time.

Perhaps if you would actually explain your opinion maturely and intelligently and not use this list as an excuse of cussing out often praised films, I might actually acknowledge your "arguments."
