I deleted my comments, because they were horrible.
I also won't update this list anymore, because I really don't care about it.
And if you want to comment something like "revenge of the sith is cool you don't get it stupid!!", be my guest, but I'm just gonna ignore it so it's kinda pointless.
Well, Revenge of the Sith has a pretty good IMDb rating, especially compared to my rating. Some people say that it's the only decent one in the new trilogy, while I think it's the worst one in the new trilogy. All of them suck though.
I have to agree on 300, the new batmans, death proof (god that was a disappointment), the kill bills, the new star wars, the pirates of the Cquels, the saws, and sin city. All either overrated, bad or both.
Dark City is one of my favorite movies, but its definitely stylized, and if the style doesn't appeal to you then... yknow. :p
A few of the others are things I like as well, but I think that you have a generally valid point.
Overrated by whom? (imdb?)
-25th hour:i think that all the movie is a pretext for the Newyork ethnic groups monologue by Monty Brogan(is too explanatory (educational, meaningfull)but is pathetic in that context)Inside Man is a better movie
-Alien is a great movie with great acting performances (Sigourney Weaver)but comparated whit Blade Runner is a shit,Blade runner is the real Scott's masterpiece
-American History X is fine, pleasent, no more.
-Batman Begins, the same.
-Crash is the rough copy of "21 Grams" (even the same scene skipped out shot scene) this is a pathetic, arty movie that search the crying in all the ways.
-The Dark Knight, the opening scene is a masterpiece without doubts and worths the entire movie,Ledger is insuperable but Katie Holmes has missed me.(in the italian dubbing The Batman voice is ridiculous)
-Dawn of the Dead is a cool remake of a grat 1978 movie by Romero.
-Death Proof is the worst Tarantino's movie, but it's just a funny toy with a great Soundtrack and some funny scenes (jukebox dance whit The Coaster's song),Rose McGowan is beautiful and Rosario Dawson makes me horny.
-The Departed:Infernal Affairs is a great movie but not better, all great actors (including Di Caprio and Damon).is a beautiful movie whith the same tension and rhythm From Beginning to End.
-Forrest Gump, yeah i hate Hanks, but i like this movie,it retrace some backstage of highlight of u.s.a. (an our) history in an easy and funny way.it has a great rythm for all time long but is so OVERRATED!
-Hard Candy is pretty,a little predictable but pretty , no more.
-Hero is not a movie this is a work of art that deletes years of Video art experiences. This is one of the best movies of the decade.
-Kill Bill(IMDb 8.2) Kill Bill II (IMDb 8.0),a little overrated, but are great movies.
-Saw is a right combination of Thriller, tension and Hrror,is cool, but not a masterpiece.
-The Simpsons Movie,The Simpsons works only in his format, this movie has great intuitions and a great satire, but is like a joke that during too mucch and became boring after 20 minutes.
-Sin City is so cool,.is hilarious and full of beautiful actresses...uhm Rosario Dawson.but IMDb overrated this movie
-The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is underrated! propably is not scaring for us,like the greater part of old Horror movies, but is a continue appearing of tiresome elements,Ex:the boy in wheelchair is more annoyng than Leatherface and makes nervous the spectator. Is full of Great Scenes:the long take through the seesaw "Altalena" and so inside the door is too intellectual. This movie and "Night of the Living Dead" are fondamental for the following cinema, not Horror only.
You're right, all these movies are overrated (by IMDb users?)(except Hero and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre)
William Friedkin on onnistunut siinä erittäin hyvin, juuri The French Connectionissa, mutta myös To Live and Die in L.A:ssa.
Katsoin muuten Driverista yhden kohtauksen YouTubesta ja näytti jopa ihan hyvältä.
I disagree with a fair number of these, since it's all opinion based, but there are a few (Saw, Kill Bill, United 93, Terminator, Shooter, Passion of the Christ, etc) that I couldn't agree more with. Good job!
Yeah... I fully agree that both of Nolan's Batman movies are really overvalued - confusing, tedious, and overall quite weak. "Sin City" and "Saw", I am also agree, however, "The Dark Knight" the most overvalued in addition to the movie is just that lists the last, "Finland's pride, the best domestic, etc. .."; "Unknown Soldier", which is considered as appreciate that.
Everyone have own opinion, but I do not own at least feel that "Revenge of the Sith", "Pirates" or "T2" would in any way overvalued, "PoftC" movies Which case it is rather the opposite, because they (the last two), insulting the rule. Similarly, Antoine Fuquan films like "Training Day" or "Shooter" with the same line I'm not with you.
"Revenge of the Sith" yet to the extent that I think the film is even a "New toivoakin" better, not special effects or because of novelty, but its bleak world where the dark, Darth Vader and the Empire's rise affecting things happen. But in any case - nice list, whit the good reasons.
I agree on some of these, but The Passion of Christ wasn't supposed to be entertaining, it was mean't to depict the horrible torture Jesus went through for us. I thought Mel Gibson did an amazing job on it, most directors wouldn't have the guts to put out something that supports Christianity.
good list, but the commetary of "goodfaith" about "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is a joke, no? that movie is fully shit. a list of some good an bad movies more blockbuster that anything. The Shawshank Redemption (1994) is a good movie but no a masterpiece. the awarded "Crash" ? pure "crap"
I agree with you on the following movies :
-American History X (1998)
-The Boondock Saints (1999)
-Forrest Gump (1994)
-Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
-Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004)
Your comment on The Passion of the Christ was really spot on. Great interpretation!
And for the people saying that you don't have any taste, that you don't know what's good or not, come one! It is just a matter of taste. Give him a break
I have to disagree on the 12 movies I have seen - I enjoyed all of them -
I especially disagree on Forrest Gump - I thought Tom Hanks was terrific -
and Terminator 2 - it is one of my All Time favorite action movies -
By the way - Linda Hamilton Was in the first movie -
there could not have been a sequel without her :)
This is crazy. I think you're not looking at some of these movies in the way they're meant to be looked at. A good example would be the Kill Bill movies. They're not meant to be deep or anything...
And I just don't see how you can hate the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
Many of these I disagree with. (25th Hour, Alien, Shawshank Redemption and T2: Judgement Day) While others (Shoot 'Em Up, Crash, Shooter, Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) I can totally understand.
Well, Revenge of the Sith has a pretty good IMDb rating, especially compared to my rating. Some people say that it's the only decent one in the new trilogy, while I think it's the worst one in the new trilogy. All of them suck though.

2 hour film showing the death and torture of Jesus Christ = A masterpiece. Mel Gibson is a genious!
...NICE!
And I just don't see how you can hate the Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
All the PotC movies are retarded, just like anyone who likes them.
