These games went pretty completely fubar as expected, but what the heck.

Giving Tarantino Oscar for Django's script is pretty much the most fucked up, shit faced insane and utterly ridiculous selection that institution has made in recent years. Also I really question whether anyone will remember Argo after couple of years, it will be forgettable foot note in the modern film canon and come years none can think of a reason why ever the hell it was chosen best picture of the year...

But then again, Academy hasn't really recognized a good film in at least 4 decades or so, so no surprise there.

Passing on Joaquin Phoenix wasn't all that surprising either. Just sad really, though presumably man didn't want the thing anyways, and I respect him for it. Art isn't a competition and there are few in Hollywood who knows this.

Probably the worst oscars in a decade. No great movies just average or good at best. All the acting awards in all the wrong places. I mean don't get me wrong Day-Lewis is a brilliant actor but is it necessary to give him award every time he's nominated now. Also Waltz getting another Oscar for the same role he did in Basterds already. Hopefully next year there are better movies to offer.

I can't think of a anyone better to get Best supporting actress than Anne Hathaway. I'm surprised that Les Miserables didn't run the table. Just goes to show...

^ Hathaway was good, granted. Les Miz was also one of the better films in Best Picture Category, better than Argo with a landslide for example.

Meh. I'm just happy that Anna Karenina won for something.

Zero Dark Thirty was very ignored, right?
I didn't watch it, but with all I heard about this movie I thought it would be something like The Hurt Locker, I don't know.
I'm glad for Ben Affleck!

Honestly, there's only like 4 films here that I truly wish to see: Argo, Skyfall, Brave and Les Miserables; I will probably end up buying the DVD's.

I might watch Lincoln, Life of Pi or Django...if someone else rents them or they come on Netflix but I'm not paying money to. The rest I have no desire at all to see. ;)

So many are on my Netflix list now! And Silver Linings was filmed in my hometown!!
